I ordered something yesterday and as of 5 minutes ago it has still not been dispatched. Is this normal? Ususally anything I order online gets dispatched on the day or next day of recieving the order.

They've been hammered with orders the last couple of weeks due to their sales. They've let everyone know and if you wanted whatever it was that badly then you either need to pay for faster shipping or order from somewhere more expensive.

They're not as fast as Wiggle but I have no complaints about their service.

I think Ribble cycles are slow. I passed one on the way to work yesterday.

Mind you, I was on a Wilier which are notoriously fast.

But seriously, Ribble were two day later on the last delivery than Wiggle. However, the goods were much cheaper there so two days was nothing. I do wish Ribble's order status was more useful though. I had my goods while it still said they were processing.

I ordered some parts last Sunday, they were delivered yesterday so 7 working days, not bad I suppose but hardly quick. The bad news is they sent the wrong size bars, I raised this with them yesterday but still haven't heard back. I also ordered a frame and forks on a separate order to avoid the 20 quid delivery charge, after querying when they would be sent I was eventually told 10-15 days , which is their normal turn around time for compete bikes, I assumed a frame and forks wouldn't fall into that category and would turn up quicker but obviously not. Luckily all of this is to bud up a wet / winter bike so hopefully I won't need it for a few weeks!

No, went with the Royal Mail. I don't mind waiting as long as I know they are actually processing the order!
  • Ribble are fine. Why so picky - are you American?
    When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.
  • They will simply be processing the large back log or orders they have had due to all the money off they are giving to their customers ;) I have noticed they are quite a bit cheaper than the likes of wiggle and cycle surgery, even with money off vouchers at said places hence why I will be staying loyal with Ribble :)

I remember the days when you had to "allow 28 days for delivery"..........
  • Ordered today at 2, paid for next day, despatched at 4.

No I'm simply expecting a standard that I've grown accustomed to. I guess this is why they're cheap. They're unprofessional and have shit customer service. I shall shop elsewhere in future!

you cant compare ribble to the likes of wiggle and chain reaction. they have about 20 staff in a small building and work 8:30 until 5, wiggle and cr have massive automated warehouses and work 24/7 365.

ribble have the best prices on the net, that's why there so busy, give em a chance.

If they menioned on their website that they are a small business that struggles to mee demand then I could have made the decision to go elsewhere and pay extra for a professional service. Ho hum I guess I've learned the hard way.

OP at first I though this was a little light hearted trolling but reading through it looks like you really mean it

FFS you got a deal that was cheaper than (i'm guessing) anywhere else you could find it and are now whining that it has taken a couple of days. Do you think you are the only person who found the cheap deals online. Ribble get a fair bit of stick for their delivery times but personally as long as they price well i'm prepared to wait.

Why not cancel your order and go elsewhere if your not happy?

If you want it quick go to your lbs or halfords

if you want it cheap then stop f*king moaning

Last time I looked on their website they did say they would take at least 7 days to process orders due to their sale.

I think everyone knows by now, Ribble are cheap but not quick. CRC are cheapish but quick. Merlin are cheap and quick

    You pays your money.....
  • I can compare Ribble and CRC>

Ribble shipped my next day order today. CRC did not.

I tried believe me. But I got an automated message on their phone saying " we are not offering a phone service today, please email". So I emailed, and have had no reply. Just because they are cheap does not give them the right to give crap service.

Do you work for Ribble? You sound like you may fit the bill perfectly.

Ordered something last Friday and it was dispatched today, not bothered as their website says 'please allow 6 to 8 working days' and the stuff I bought was much cheaper than anywhere else.

So cheap they're very busy. I called to pay for next day delivery but they just prioritised it and I got it next day.

I found it a bit frustrating when I wore out my rear tyre and the replacement from Ribble took a few days to arrive, but I accept that it was self-inflicted. Once it appeared as processed on their system I had it just over 24 hrs later.

I chose Ribble because they were the cheapest on the web, so I have the satisfaction of knowing I spent as little as I could.
I openly admit I was too tight to pay for faster delivery.
If I was really worried about being off the road I should have had a spare tyre anyway, or I could have chosen to buy there and then from my LBS or Halfords.

I still look for cheap stuff on Ribble's website, and bear in mind the likely delivery timescale.
  • Ribble are sh*t from my experiences, would never use them again.

    But thats just me.

I dont think the OP's service could be described as slow.

By all means dont use them again, but you'll find delays with all mail order people from time to time. And even going into the LBS - they run out of stock too. You must be very new to shopping ?
