I'm finding it increasingly difficult to believe he's an atheist. Why would that be the only thing he hasn't lied about?
Regarding a confession, it does seem true that there is very little to be gained from it, unless he goes the full hog I AM REDEMPTION angle. What is definitely true is that denying it isn't working for him anymore.0 -

He's going to find heavenly redemption and become the biggest evangelist preacher EVER - just you watch0 -
Maybe that is his way out.
"I lied about drugs, but even worse, I lied about being an atheist. I look to God and Americans to forgive me".
I would lap it up.0 -

If he didn't have Livestrong he would be totally and utterly screwed. Totally. It's his ONLY vestige of hope that the public doesn't turn on him badly.Contador is the Greatest0

I'm amazed the big press hasn't dug into Livestrong yet. There's plenty there to feed on.0 -
Shit. I bet he appears on US TV, in tears, a la Tiger, with his family (and a priest), throws himself into a full admission and apology, then watch the USA forgive him. He will turn to God, and "get back on that darn bike and do some good to help all the other souls who are weakened by evil" And then, CHRISTRIDESTRONG will be formed and the resulting God squad will start to climb at heavenly speeds to get closer to their divine maker.
Honest, this will happen, Truck bikes will be all over this. Madone - Madonna0 -

Where would it leave Dennis?
I've really got to change my approach. For more than a few years now I've tried to explain my views on the subject. Tried to ask questions. Never got much in the way of answers other than the standard "f*ck you". I'm starting to believe most of you really don't "get it". Hell, I'm even starting to believe that some of you are trying to portray
yourselves as LA victims, what with all the "he's ruined cycling for me" and "how can I trust the results anymore, I'm shattered". Then there is the belief that everything will be OK now that he's out and WE are finally on the road to having OUR SPORT cleaned up once and for all. Where will it leave me if he confesses? Well, before he came on the scene I rode my bike, went to work, played my fiddle, went skiing, and lifted some weights. While he was winning it all I rode my bike, went to work, played..... Now that he's gone I still ride my bike, have since retired, still play....... Hopefully that is simple enough for everyone to understand but I have my doubts.0 -

Not sure. I think he lied too many times to be get away with an apology.
Tiger's stuff was different. No lies and frankly, not really anyone's business (except his wife and maybe sponsors).0 -

His "yellow shield" strategy helped maintain the myth/lies for a decade, and it's the shield that keeps on giving. A shame more's not being done to gen the masses to the whole .com/.org bullsh1t.0 -
Its not that people have their dreams shattered. Ok, there are one or two who were true believers but now see what is, for arguments sake, fact.
Noone (on this forum)s lives are going to change, but when a bad guy get's whats coming which in turn means paving the way for a more enjoyable pro cycling spectacle through its (hopefuly) lack of drugs, then that's a good thing, right?0 -

What makes us laugh is that you keep talking about whatever the subject is, then complaining about how the subject keeps continuing.

But this, for me, is the worst of it. For more than a decade these valiant seekers of the truth shut up and took the money and prestiege that came with being on the list of "approved" Armstrong journos and now want to play it both ways."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"
@gietvangent0 -
I take your point, Greased. I guess there were approved journos, and there were the blacklisted ones...I read an interview with Dan Coyle the other day, and he was asked whether he'd be following up with another book covering recent events - he said no, he had another project in mind.0

Glad you think I'm wrong. Gets pretty boring when everyone agrees, especially on a forum.
I don't believe I'm complaining that the subject continues. More like wondering why.
"Commupance"? He sure did, or will, or is in the process of. It's the old saying of "Don't do the crime if ya can't do the time". In this case time has run out for him but in some ways it's just started.0 -

I'm reminded of the motto of Londons Royal Society. "Nullius in verba" or "Take nobody's word for it"0 -
Do you think he'll eventually admit it, dennis?0

So, if Nike now seem to believe it... any supporters of LA left on here that still think he's innocent??
A few people on here seem to have disappeared over the last couple of months on these threads.
Any 'believers' left out there??
(oakley to say something on it next??)0 -
Interesting view from a neuropsychologist. Apparently it's all about winning, winning trumps ethics, especially as they were all at it over there in Europe anyway. Collateral damage is inevitable, whether it is whistle-blowers like Bassons or somebodyelse who is in the way, so shed a tear and then get back appreciating the lust for glory.

I guess he too has a vested interest, plugging his own book about winning (advertised in his biog).
As Adolf Hitler said, “It is not truth that matters, but victory.”0 -
