This whole thread is not about the bike. It's sort of the People Magazine of cycling threads in that it's readers are all enthralled with cycling's celebrities.

Thought I's resurrect this tired old post to remind people about how all their predictions have come true. Lance is the death of cycling. Doping is ruining "our" sport. Sponsors will leave in droves. People just won't come to watch the races anymore. I'll never watch cycling again. Cycling will never recover. It's not fair to use drugs. Professional cyclist need to be held to a higher standard. The cycling system is corrupt from top to bottom. I'm gone, never riding again. Dopers need to get lifetime bans. etc., etc.

    Bwwwwaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Not noticed how there are teams called Trek, Giant, Cannondale, BMC. Plus a few rich man's playthings with no real title sponsor. Plus Katusha and Astana. That's not a sign of a completely recovered sponsor situation.

    *****THREAD CROSSOVER ALERT*****THREAD CROSSOVER ALERT******

So long as other sports keep getting a bad press and doping in cycling stories get fewer and fewer (which they are), it will all balance out. Look at the big sponsors who have recently pulled out of certain events like NIKE.

Someone goes for a ride with Lance.. someone is automatically a cheat, is that where you're going?

    Take the tin hat off.

If you're a cheat, the last person you'd hang around is Lance. It works in the reverse. Many people ride with Lance throughout the year, are they all cheats? No.

No! That's not where I was going at all! I was just very surprised, that's all! I don't believe he's a Doper at all, I'm really sorry if i gave that impression. But it does lower him a lot in my regards

Why? lance seems like good craic. Rather go for a pint with him than Froome, or Contador etc.

Hmm, I think Lance is the very last person in the cycling world I'd go for a pint with. Him or Cadel anyway.

I would save my money in that company also but I would include Greg Lemon also.

It lowers my regard for TVG, because to go for rides with Lance is so disrespectful to everyone LA was a colossal c*ck to. Armstrong was nearly psychopathic in his attempts to destroy people, he's never showed ANY remorse and he doesn't deserve forgiveness
  • I'm no Teabag fan, but I do find it wryly amusing when people go on about him hanging out with Lance.

Teabag's team manager is Ochz, and his team doctor is Max Testa for gods sake

I think you're overrating yourself. TVG doesn't care what you think. Add to that the fact that he knows LA and you just think you do.

To be fair my opinion of TJVG was never that high anyway, he's one of the most boring riders in the peloton.

Not that he cares about my opinion of course.

Fair points but just because TVG doesn't care what I think doesn't mean I can't have an opinion of him, does it?

is it "your" opinion .... or the medias opinion of him that you have ? .. Having never met the guy, or been involved with him, I assume your opinion is based on media portrayal

    what sells a paper quicker

Lance is an evil monster .... or Lance is actually a really nice guy these days

Yeah, because it keeps pinging up on my bloody email that you've commented in your eternal crusade to prove whatever it is you're actually trying to prove to a bunch of people who don't actually give a rubber duck and have forgotten what your original point was anyway!

We've tried hard to keep the existence of other threads regarding doping hidden from you, but apparently our efforts have failed.

Seriously: watch a race, comment on the tactics in the spoiler threads, post something about cycling.

Ya got me all wrong. I am in attendance, as a USA Cycling official, at a race at least once a week. So "watch a race" has a whole lot more meaning to me than most people. I'm pretty confidant that I see more races and tactics than the majority on these threads. Add to that the fact that I'm retired with extra time on my hands and "bingo" I'm on doping threads out of boredom.

Yeah, we actually do. Check out our local clubs Facebook and website. Both under Maumee Valley Wheelmen. We try.
