Signed 2004 Lance Armstrong TDF jersey sells at auction for £150. Ouch!
I guess it doesn't matter how much you argue over the semantics of who did or didn't win those races the value of memorabilia is a bit of a litmus test on these things.
Although according to Lance it's not his signature!

Assuming we can believe anything he says any more
I would imagine it is his signature but he found the opportunity for a self deprecating one liner irresistable0 -

I bought one, some time ago , signed after his 7th win( clearly he now has none) at an auction. Paid £1,600.. How dumb do I look?0 -

Not dumb at all, I presume the cash went to "charidee". TBH in a few years time such shirts may be just as valuable for their infamy as they would otherwise had he not been busted.
EDIT: (as a fine example of the very best of cycling hypocrisy) I'd quite like a signed Ulrich shirt. Preferably a Bianchi one but I'd consider a T Mobile if anyone knows where one might be for sale...0 -

Pretty much what I'm thinking although I cannot bring myself to have it anywhere I can see it. Currently in the basement. I'll leave it to my next, or their next, generation to get any value from it whether that be redemption or infamy value!0 -

Lance's biggest contribution to sport, his legacy, is that in pushing cycling to investigate and ban him with such high profile publicity has finally led to athletics and sport in general being cleaned. Lance opened the door and sportsmen and fans worldwide should thank him. Well done Lance.'Performance analysis and Froome not being clean was a media driven story. I haven’t heard one guy in the peloton say a negative thing about Froome, and I haven’t heard a single person in the peloton suggest Froome isn’t clean.' TSP0

Not sure that was part of his Endgame in 1998 when recovering from Cancer, and starting up his program of systematic cheating, designed to make him worth more than any other cyclist in the sport. hmmm...0 -

No longer is the public's first thought when I say "my sport is cycling" do they reply "The Drug Sport" ?Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -
How quickly times change, cycling was the drug sport, Russia from a standing start has become the 'drug nation' and all athletics is dirty. Wow... and we haven't even ripped FIFA wide open yet...'Performance analysis and Froome not being clean was a media driven story. Lance wins 35k Woodside Ramble trail race at the weekend. There is chatter in community he will be running more ultras, probably Leadville 100.
Most of these races have no written policy regarding past doping convictions and entry.Winner: PTP Vuelta 20070 -

No offence but who cares?
The higher he gets up any ladder however small, the more likely he will be on the receiving end of criticism.

I was asking my club mates about the dutch online webshop "Bakker Racing Products" and they related to me the story of one Erwin Bakker who devotees of early 00's MTB racing will remember was popped for EPO and steroids and banned for 2 years. He then proceeded to enter (and win!) lower tier races under his brother's name until he was spotted by a Journalist and reported to the UCI. Whereupon he was, unsurprisingly, banned for life and now sells extremely competitively priced groupsets online
The interesting thing about Lance and Erwin is that despite the bans they just HAVE to compete
(It has to be said that as a webshop, Bakker runs one of the best ones I ve ever had the fortune to use. Stuff was sent the same day and arrived the next, for free. Maybe Lance could channel his competitiveness into running a really good shop...?)We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Hein Verbruggen knew about Lance Armstrong's doping and protected him. Those are the accusations made by former WADA president Dick Pound in an interview with De Telegraaf: "He was regarded as the global show window of cycling."
"Armstrong is one of the most egregious cheaters which sport has produced. No athlete could sell himself better than him. He is the prototype of the cunning sportsman who can cheat the system over and over again," said the Canadian. "How? Simply because he was protected by the UCI. His image had to be protected at all costs. Fortunately, he eventually turned out not to be untouchable."Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -

That git took me for €20 for a pre load bolt he never sent. He gave up returning my e-mails and hanging up the phone when I called. If you're up for a trip, my next escalation is to doorstep him"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Thought I's resurrect this tired old post to remind people about how all their predictions have come true. Lance is the death of cycling. Doping is ruining "our" sport. Sponsors will leave in droves. People just won't come to watch the races anymore. I'll never watch cycling again. Cycling will never recover. It's not fair to use drugs. Professional cyclist need to be held to a higher standard. The cycling system is corrupt from top to bottom. I'm gone, never riding again. Dopers need to get lifetime bans. etc., etc.

I think a few of the current riders might argue that Lance did serious damage that is still ongoing.
Froome in particular is in a situation where many feels he's doping mainly because Lance did.0 -
