You lot are strange.
"His cancer can't have been that bad".
Then in the foul weather of the first week in July he has to retire from the TDF, very wet and with Loss of form.
This was diagnosed later in 1996 as Testicular cancer followed by hospital treatment that enabled him to race again and come 4th in the 1998 Vuelta a España. Very Sad period of his life.
A lot of what he said is disputed but noone who knew him doubts how serious his cancer was. He was 25 and had cancer all over his body and was exceptionally close to death's door.
Doesn't mean his cancer wasn't any less horrendous.
DNF (with loss of form) the TDF 1st week July 96 to return to USA and news reaches us in Sept/Oct about being diagnosed with cancer.
Didn't he do well (very athletic) to place 4th overall in the 98 Vuelta with a cancer riddled body having had chemotherapy treatment.
Come on mate, I don't buy the seriousness after the chemotherapy and his hair had grown again.
Doctors initial diagnosis of cancer all over his body probably changed after the chemotherapy and they advised the removal of a testicle. This wouldn't prevent having intercourse or producing children or even resuming being an athlete.
It scared the life out of him with that initial diagnosis but then like me he realised had got away with it.
So, no harm in him using it to get TUE'sOrganiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -
In case you are not aware, Lance is riding the Geoff Thomas TdF route today. Lots of chatter about whether it is right or wrong. Good luck to him I say.

I've just seen this... So you're saying that after he was no longer suffering from a life threatening illness requiring brain surgery and some pretty nasty chemo, it wasn't as bad as when he was?
What TUEs did he use cancer medication to claim?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

I'd be happy to be as fit as him right now never mind at 44!I'm left handed, if that matters.0

LA continues to show he doesn't give a damn about cycling after having been asked by numerous people to stay away. Got to conclude therefore his other sincerity is a lot of tosh as well.... bye bye Lance.'Performance analysis and Froome not being clean was a media driven story. I haven’t heard one guy in the peloton say a negative thing about Froome, and I haven’t heard a single person in the peloton suggest Froome isn’t clean.' TSP0

Just remember: here's a list of the riders who finished top 5 (including LA) in the Tours he "won", and their drug-test career highlights. They may not have failed a test in the actual race they achieved the top 5 in, or even the year of the result, but then neither did Lance.
Alex Zulle - busted
Fernando Escartin - clear. The *only* podium finisher in any of the LA wins to have not been implicated in anything, ever.
Laurent Dufaux - busted
Angel Casero - clear, but named in Puerto.
Jan Ullrich - busted
Joseba Beloki - busted
Christophe Moreau - busted
Roberto Heras - busted
Igor Gonzalez - busted
Andrei Kivilev - clear, sadly died racing.
Raimondas Rumsas - busted
Santiago Bolero - semi-busted for Salbutamol, not UCI sanctioned however.
Alexander Vinokourov - busted
Tyler Hamilton - busted
Haimar Zubeldia - clear
Andreas Kloden - officially clear, despite the 2006 fuss... make up your own mind.
Ivan Basso - busted
Jose Azevedo - clear. Rode for Postal as LA's main man. You decide.
Francisco Mancebo - officially clear. Named in Puerto though, then "disappeared" for a few years.
Only Ullrich from 2005 onwards has also had any of his results "erased".

no longer on Nike shoes.
I get the feeling he doesn't even care about the cancer community, and it's more about him and raising his image.
Has he donated any of his own money or just expecting other people to donate0 -
I'm sure he has much money left himself tbf..0

Tomorrow's KM0 on The Cycling Podcast is an interview with Armstrong, they've done it this way rather than in the middle of a full length episode to make it easier for anyone who doesn't want to listen to avoid.0

Really? I am pretty bored of it now TBH; I'd rather focus on the racing we have.0 -
Does anyone else get the feeling there is more tragedy left in this story to be played out?"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0
