Yeah, we actually do. Check out our local clubs Facebook and website. Both under Maumee Valley Wheelmen. We try.
Yup :- The Americas all race bikes through their continenent and you will see them all this afternoon.
The USA are slowly waking up that the World play different sports to those in their little world.
They now know that World sports are more than just Olympic sports.

Have you noticed the crowds that attend "Soccer Matches" and Rugby Matches. ??
I have seen a USA team representing them in a cricket match.

Just think that most of these originated on that little Island off the coast of Eurorpe and use their Language too.

I love the Quote made on TV by a curator of the Baltimore Railroad Museum, ie :- we "ReInvented" the Steam Engine. ???

Can the Surrey de-do-wap-wap boys enter a team for the World Series?

    Hmm...

"Curling was invented in medieval Scotland, with the first written reference to a contest using stones on ice coming from the records of Paisley Abbey, Renfrewshire, in February 1541. Two paintings, "Winter Landscape with a Bird Trap" and "The Hunters in the Snow" (both dated 1565) by Pieter Bruegel the Elder depict Flemish peasants curling—Scotland and the Low Countries had strong trading and cultural links during this period, which is also evident in the history of golf."

There is one thing that is definitely American - Donald Trump.

Oh no. Not golf too? What's left? Donny? What can we say? Actually I was thinking that it would be a really nice change of pace to have a President who wasn't a politician. Don't ya get sick of the same old same old talking heads year after year, decade after decade?

Well this is going way off topic. Donald Trump is more politically inept than George Dublya and that is saying something. We're in this current mess because of GW and his 'ole mate Tony Blair. What sort of mess will the world be in after 2 weeks of DT? WW3? He's more than capable of sparking off that one or even civil war in the US - that would be popcorn time.
I truly believe we would be intervening in Syria right now had we not gone to Iraq.

I'll give you truly American: The Mormons, MacDonalds (apart from the noun), KFC, the first manned flight, the Karate kid (even though he was doing something foreign), Coca-Cola and the milk shake. Wax on, wax off.

Please Lance, go and do something spectacular so we can resurrect this thread.

We've tried hard to keep the existence of other threads regarding doping hidden from you, but apparently our efforts have failed.

Seriously: watch a race, comment on the tactics in the spoiler threads, post something about cycling.

Ya got me all wrong. I am in attendance, as a USA Cycling official, at a race at least once a week. So "watch a race" has a whole lot more meaning to me than most people. I'm pretty confidant that I see more races and tactics than the majority on these threads. Add to that the fact that I'm retired with extra time on my hands and "bingo" I'm on doping threads out of boredom.

Yeah but aren't races in "merica just crits?

Other than the British Road Race championships, they don't seem to broadcast anything but crits on the domestic scene here.

No not really. Our local club races every Tuesday from mid April to mid September. We use 2 "road" courses. A 6 miler and a 7 miler. A time trial course ranging from 10 miles to 25, depending on the time of the year. Plus two "crit" courses on the grounds of a local community college that are used for police and fire training, not open to public traffic, and (big plus) NO curbs. Also once a year we rent the local (car) speedway, a 1/2 mile asphalt oval, for an omnium. So in answer to your question, NO.

Dennisn is a Trump fan? Quelle surprise. I can only hope it's part of his trolling act!

The rest of the world is kind of hoping the yanks won't vote him in but it seems they are more interested in having an entertaining d£$khead than someone who actually knows how to run a country and might not nuke everyone.

    God help us all.

Back on the subject of Lance, he was mates with George Dubbleya wasn't he? Another shockingly bad choice of president by the USA but apparently, quite a decent mountain biker. Gotta have one saving grace eh?
