Well, it's not really the 'media fire' here, this is just discussion.
As it is being discussed, Cookson and DB can criticise all they like. Its got nothing to do with them or anyone else for that matter
It would be nothing to do with them if LA's ride was nothing to do with the Tour. But it is, so it is.
Edit: just broken my self-imposed rule to not post on this thread. I'm off to give myself a damn good thrashing. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -

He was paid by his sponsors who in turn made profits many fold. Now they're claiming they didn't know what the fark was going on and want their money back.0 -

The very first reply tells you:

Lance Armstrong: US government say disgraced former cyclist continues to hide the truth

It is amazing how ridiculous the US is in many ways and I wonder why they are picking up on Lance and not going to town on the significant other dopers in their country in other sports.

I think the US are doing ok on sports corruption comparatively[fifa anyone?]. They were not shy taking down there own idol here and deserve a little credit for that......."If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. I think BALCO and the contempt that the like of Roger Clemens clearly held the government in were a bit of a wake up call. Plus Americans loath corruption with a burning passion."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

As the Quaking, Shaking Mormons of Wall St will testify....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -
Permit me to rephrase. The American public loath corruption with a burning passion and as Major League Baseball isn't a big campaign contributor to either party, their employees make for a good sacrifice.
PS Are there many Quakers, Shakers or Mormons on Wall Street?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

So Lance reckons he has told all, and now everyone should be nice to him - well F that , he trashed so many people's careers, and thats not gone away. IMO he is 'out' for lifehttp://veloviewer.com/SigImage.php?a=3370a&r=3&c=5&u=M&g=p&f=abcdefghij&z=a.png

He is actually squirming and wrigling like a fish on the fishing line.
FF : FFS you have a short memory.Lance Armstrong as its leader, were accomplished through a massive team doping scheme, more extensive than any previously revealed in professional sports history.Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -
I can see Lance doing a tell all book at some point to get the money back. if he wrote the truth I think it would sell very well.0

He'd make more money if he published it as a trilogy:
"The Truth"
"The Whole Truth"
"Nothing But The Truth (This Time I Swear To God)"0 -
There always seems to be a 'woe is me, I'm just poor liddle Lance' the day or so before something is coming up in court against him.
Funny that.0 -
Let me check...
Tour de France starting soon - Check
Lance coming into the media as he is skint - Check
David Walsh has an interest in a film coming out - Check
*sigh*
I listened to Walsh on TalkSport this afternoon and wasnt impressed. Can we not get over this now.0 -

Funny that.
Unfortunately there are still loads of Lance fans in the US who do feel sorry for him.
I feel sorry for him too but in a completely different way.0 -
I've noticed that since his conviction and confession he only gives interviews to general sports writers and broadcasters - not to cycling journalists. They are much more malleable to his 'poor me, the scapegoat' narrative.
Clearly they are less likely to know the full story about what a shyster he is.0 -

To be fair to Armstrong I would also struggle to get together $100 million if needed.0

I think it would tank -- Lance is yesterday's news.
But a tell all book by Sheryl Crow -- now that would sell.
It's very nice how Lance has faded from view in the U.S.0 -

I guess general sports journo's don't really care about the impact he has had on cycling. They are not as passionate (Kimmage?) about the sport and only want a story.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
He's having a bit of a spat with Piers Moron on twitter, shouldn't look but it's hard to resist.0
