I think Phinney is 21/22 that kid was about 10 so I am guessing not. Perhaps a sponsor's son?0 -
Blaming cav for ramming his rear wheel ?0

Thomas would have a great chance in of being in pink after the TTT, yeah?

Hadn't done the maths! Duh...
Impressed that Phinney seems comfortable doing interviews in Italian. He's hard not to like.0 -
i hope Ferrari goes and visits Phinney and Cav to apologise for that... regardless of whether he is dq'd or not.**************************************************

Could just as easily be Rasmussen, considering how many strong performances Garmin had in the TT opener.

Credit to GE here - they stayed together on the corners and delivered Goss well on the outside. Sky took the inside corners and Cav got swamped, as was bound to happen - totally not Cav's fault what happened with Ferrari but the lead train left a lot to be desired.0

Looks like he's over-excited at still being in the race
I hope Sky can do enough to put G in pink, I'm sure he'd be happier getting it in the TTT than by Phinney being a DNF today. Bit worried that Uran and Henao may weaken the Sky TTT though.0 -

Phinney spend some of his teenage years in Italy, where his parents ran cycle holidays, and he went to an Italian school, thus his fluent Italian.
Almost dropped my knitting watching that crash. My poor boy. If Ferrari's not booted out of the race, they could always lock him in a room with Cav, Phinney, Hunter and the other sprinters. He'll never do it again.0 -

24 hours before everyone else? That's taking the home bias much too far0 -

Not sure Hunter would help, that's probably who Ferrari learned the move off in the first place!0 -
Nice tweet by Kittel
marcelkittel: I guess Ferrari went straight to his team bus, locked all doors & started praying...0 -
Ferrari classified at 192nd on the Gazzetta site... guess he's just been relegated instead of DQed outright.0

Yes, Ferrari Dq'd to last on the stage was made official about 30 minutes ago."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Bloke called Ferrari ruining cycling. Who'd have thought it....
Good to see Phinney back on his feet and a well taken win by Goss. What a great first season GE are having.0 -

A few others:
Quinziato: People who does thing like Ferrari today or Rojas at Gand Wevelghem should get 3 months ban!
Henderson: That was a madmans move by Ferrari. Unbelievable. That is what make bunch sprinting dangerous. Guys like him.
O'Grady: Awesome sprint today boys! That Ferrari dude should be kicked off the race. That's just not on! hope the other guys that crashed are ok..
Thomas: You can get suspended in football for a 2 footed challenge,or a spear tackle in rugby. Kick Ferrari out Giro for crashing 10guys at 60kph!!!Twitter: @RichN950 -
Probably best for him to be kicked out. I'm sure he will get some earfuls and maybe a few others things beside tomorrow.Contador is the Greatest0

What an attitude! Basically "I don't care if I endanger my fellow workers and nearly put the race leader out of the competition". Should definately be DQd after comments like that as it suggests he'd have no qualms about doing it again!0 -
Not much of a penalty for switching like that...
Just read the sad news about the mayor of Horsens who died yesterday after having a heart attack while riding his bike. At least the riders themselves did not have a repeat of stage three last year.0 -
Ferrari tosspot ruins my bank holiday Monday. Unbelievable attitude from him post race. Man needs a good sorting plus sending home. More respect needed.0

I like Denmark as a country, but Merckx almighty, that was dire racing.
Imagine what a turd of a stage it would've been without demolition-Ferrari.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

interesting version of not my fault. wonder if he'll change his tune once he sees it0 -
Sky really need to sort the train out. Was it really necessary to be doing all of the pulling 30+Kms out? The break was never going to succeed and by the time the show started to get dirty Sky were down to a train of two (GT and little Pete) and so others were muscling in. Am I right in thinking Goss still had at least 3 within the last km?
They are acting like the peleton's mother and taking responsibility for everything. They'll be completely spent by the halfway point.0 -
To be honest I don't think Sky's train mattered, I'm not the biggest Cav fan but it looked to me like he would probably have got that one regardless...0
