    FAIL by SKY.

Cav left solo from 900m. Well back. Looking lost. Falling back. Then crashes.

    Takes out Phinney. Outrageous.

To be fair FF, where was Cav supposed to go? Ferrari completely took him out.

Mind you very unlucky for Phinney :(

I'd throw him out for that. Not only brought down Cav, but looks as if he has caused a bad injury to Taylor Phinney.

FF saw that after, don't worry.

    Poor Phinney. Gutted for him.

Super work by the camera man. Didn't lose Cav once in that overhead then was able to pan to make the winner cross the line.

Note that I mentioned Sky, not Cav and said that Cav did a super job. Good, move along.

I don't know if its the train or whether Cav would rather follow his rivals, but he has had a habit of loosing his train this season so far. Still may not have prevented the crash though

Really crazy move by Ferrari. Wouldn't complain if he was DQed for that.

What was Ferrari thinking? He had room to push on to the left but decided to move from there across TWO riders and, in a stroke of genius, thought it would be a good idea to do it without looking!

Well I think he's taken out 3 of my Fantasy Cycling team (Phinney, Cav & Guardini) in one foul move! Not impressed...it was a horrible, full-speed crash.

Fair play to Goss though...looked like the likely winner anyway.

Not sure what happened with the lead out. Kennaugh accelerated coming out if final bend with Thomas on his wheel but Cav either got boxed or decided to go with what was familiar and sit behind Renshaw. Terrible move by Ferrari - would have been an interesting finish as Cav was going hard, think he left it a bit too late though. Nice to see Goss finally get the win after all those 2nds.

Would be really surprised if there's no DQ.
Very rare to see someone move as badly as that.

Think he'll be lucky if he gets away with a DQ.

Is Thomas in pink then? Sure it's not how he would like to do it if he is.

Cav lost Kennaugh and Thomas at about 2km through the corne (rabo came across the line). Kennaugh put the gas on while Thomas was lOoking back for Cav constantly. The sky train now acts as the train everyone wants to get on and in the closing 20km hunter, farrar and phinney were never far from cav. On one of the last few corners he lost the wheel of Thomas and fell back about five places.

Perhaps had that not happened then he might have been ahead of Ferrari in that final straight.

That doesn't pin the blame on Sky though. While its a mistake Thomas swing out a bit at 1.2 and you could see cav on the edge of the trailing group. Cav could have possibly moved up but perhaps it was too risky. Either way I am not sure he had enough distance before the crash but he had found the gap and was making up ground quickly on goss et al.

Bad stuff from Ferrari, he should have more done than just a DQ

Dunno who it was, but someone came millimetres to running over cavs outstretched arm. Since I'm currently laid up from a crash of my own, my stomach went into a knot watching that. Absolutely gutted for taylor, hope it's not broken.

    Possibly not:
No pink jersey presentation to a rider, it's been given to some kid! Yes really a kid. However jersey had a BMC logo on it, Taylor still?

What I've noticed most from the overhead shots the past 2 days is that Cav is much more aware of what is happening around him than anyone else at the front of the sprint. Last few years it seemed like he just needed stick to Renshaw's wheel then make the jump. Now he is constantly scanning his options - yesterday choosing to let GT go to the right and make a gap for himself to jump up the middle. Everyone else only seems focused on what is happening ahead of them.

Watching the overhead shots today I think that had Ferarri not sideswiped him he would have made the jump for the win.

Excellent riding by the bunnyhoping Liquidgas rider.

Gutted for Finney. DQ for Ferarri please.
