Is he actually wearing that shoe? It's *almost* cool!

So the mayor of the finishing place died of a heart attack.

    Bad news.

    The curse of stage 3.

    Gah, that's no good.

The Giro also paid tribute to the mayor of Horsens, Jan Trøjborg, who died suddenly at the weekend. “The news of his death took us by surprise and we even considered cancelling the stage,” Giro director Michele Acquarone told Tuttobici. “Yesterday, we had a meeting which his widow, mother and family attended, and it was they who asked us to go on. They wanted us to bring the happiness of the Giro here so as to realise the dream that their loved one had worked on so tenaciously for a year and a half.”

How quick a turnaround are on the pink bits Phinney has? Surely he has to have thought he'd be in Pink at some point to have a pink powermeter.

    Impressive.

I doubt he'd have to get his own. There is probably an SRM rep following the race hoping that the leader is an SRM user. Presumably the same rep has a box of yellow head units in July. Great publicity.

After typing that i did think of that and have no doubt thats what happens.

Would still prefer it if he was just that confident.

I do dislike the wearing of national champions' jerseys outside of the country in which they were won. The Lithuanian champ gets to look like the world champ.

Good ol' Frank one of the only riders wearing full leg warmers not just 3/4 length)... Sorry for giving Mr Schleck a hard time time... but even these minor things about him grate at me now...

Perhaps he is too nervous to take his hands off the bars to remove them ...

I'm all for it, just that particular jersey is very annoying.

Rujano and Pozzivivo hanging off the rear - got teammates tho. Hang in there you champion climbers. Dont let the flat power monsters ride you out of GC.

Good roads. A good run in. Wide, smooth but with a good few turns.

    FAIL by SKY.

Cav left solo from 900m. Well back. Looking lost. Falling back. Then crashes.

    Takes out Phinney. Outrageous.

    ANDRONI MOTHERFUCKER. (Edit: Ferrari)

    DQ HIM FROM THE RACE

Cav did great job to find a whole like a sprinting pro and this amateur swings right in front of him taking him out.

No kidding. What a c*** - and he's taken out both the pink and red jerseys.

That was a monumental switch by Roberto Ferrar! Took Cav's wheel from right under him!
    Taylor Phinney's broken his ankle?
