    Was it spooky?
  • It was going to be Gorlech but i ended up at FOD.

Rode the blue and then the red. The new sections on the red are brilliant, just a pity my front tyre isn't suitable for wet mud or I would have gone faster :)

Not been for a few weeks. How's the trails holding up after all the rain?

Llandegla - diversion shortened it, but did all the blacks, 1hr 30 in shitty weather, great fun though. Haven't been for ages.
  • Wharnecliffe and Grenoside in Sheffield, the most disgusting, wet, muddy rider ive ever had, but glad I went out.

Yeah fine. Lots of big puddles, but in the main it was fine. Hully Gully was a bit slippy in places.
  • Bike Park Wales.
Love the place... but the bus service leaves a lot to be desired, it really is shite.

    Bike was awesome though!
  • managed to sneak in a cheeky couple of hours at bike park wales this afternoon. Had a couple of brown pants moments due to having an unsuitable front tyre on the bike. But what the heck, i've only got a couple of weeks left riding now this winter.

  • back up at BPW again. Only did the blues because was frozen and almost out of my inhaler! I'm we got there at about half nine ish. the car parks were nearly full up by ten ish.

Cannock, Follow 't' Dog and 't' Monkey.
Awesomes fun, wet but not too bad. New tires (Hans Dampf's) really were good, excellent grip all the time. Will run tubeless next to try and lower the weight.
MTB's, SC Blur LTc & Cotic Soul (26" definitely aint dead!).

Supposed to go out on the new road bike today but amateurishly managed to mash the thread on the left hand crank arm. Did a short ride around Tandle Hill area as I've not ridden for three weeks due to holidays and stuff. It was alright.

^^this. Much better conditions than yesterday although still kindof tricky off-piste. Following matey down one slithery descent he was almost on full lock speedway style as the back end tried to overtake the front!

Gisburn did 3 laps of the Hope Line would have done a fourth but my legs were about to fall off because it was my first ride in 2 weeks. Weather was fantastic, bright sunshine, cool and no wind perfect for riding.

So do I bloody awful little boring drag I think its because its fireroad and just gets gradually steeper. Hopefully the trail builders will sort out an interesting alternative climb. I havent ridden there for a while and I think some of the new stuff is great the Trail builders are doing a great job though I reckon some of the puddles need sorting before someone drowns

Not heard anything about a propose more interesting climb being built, but that would be nice. It's a real boring slog, and always puts me off going back up for another descent. I've only been riding there since late spring this year, but I know what you mean about the puddles. It had always been dry on my previous visits, but last time I was there about a month ago was after a few days of rain and there was loads of puddles. It must be much worse by now. Surely part of the point of the point of man made trails is to make them as all year round rideable as possible.

Rode 7 Stanes Newcastleton yesterday, really enjoyed that. It was good to test out two new things, the DMR flat pedals and Maxxis tyres. Both passed with flying colours.

Rode the Blue route twice and the Red one and a quarter times (missed a turn the first time). Blue is absolutely lovely and flowing, but some of the Red sections had me bottling out. I want another go ASAP, my legs ache today though :D

Lots of Cannock today. Great conditions and a gentle reminder of why I sacked off working Fridays in 2007

    Local ish,
Tandle Hill then down to Clayton Vale and back through a few oddball paths, 43k in all so chuffed with that.
  • BPW today... no uplift ticket so rode up. Was showing a noob around so stuck to blues for the most part, all went well until he cased a berm on our last run. Smacked his head into the ground after his front wheel washed out, but luckily not permanent damage!

Didn't start out great though as my front mech bust this morning so I had to set the stops on the big ring and removed the shifter etc, bloody loved it!
Thinking about going single ring permanently, but will go down to 34T from 36T to make the climbs a tad easier!

To his head, or the berm? I understand what casing a jump means now, but what does casing a berm entail?

Yesterday I just had a pootle on local trails. I've been off the bike for a few weeks and it wasn't quick at all but nice to get out. This morning I went to a foggy Lee Quarry, again the uphills were difficult but I really smashed (by my low standards) the final descent including hovering over the rock garden. I felt like a proper mountain biker.

Glentress red and blue today, first time I've been, Berm Baby Berm, Spooky Wood and Ewok Village were brilliant! Still got a bit cold though, so 3500ft of climbing hurt some...
