    All true, but I have been eating less and riding longer in order to burn fat. Monday I just had a pot of tea for breakfast and went out for a ride around 10:30. I stopped for lunch 1:00 - my first solid food of the day. Had a main meal with the family at 5:00pm, my last solid food of the day. I dont normally stick to such a narrow window of eating, but that's how it fell. I was 400g lighter today as a result.

    I also run half marathons, which burns calories even quicker and I can complete them in around two hours, so no need to eat or drink (unless its very hot). So I can do those at a higher heart rate. It's just that over the last six months I've stuck to lower tempo rides, and I need to get out of that habit.

    I made more of an effort today and managed a more respectable 13mph. The trip included some shopping so the last few climbs were a bit slower than the earlier ones. It was still part of my routine of only drinking tea before a ride so in very pleased to have made the effort.

    Ketogenic diet. Essentially if you drop your carbs down to <20g per day (that's the "really strict" limit) then your body is forced to produce ketones (hence the name) to digest the fat in your body.

    It's like a sane version of the Atkins diet in that fat and protein intake are fairly high (cheese!), but you're eating veg as well.

    It does work really bloody well - my other half has lost a stone in a month pretty easily before, and her body shape changed markedly - but it's not without some drawbacks; see reddit's keto thread for an idea.

    And being off the booze is like misery, but worse.

    I'm defo getting fitter again but still a stone off my 2016 Marmotte weight which is a worry with this years Marmotte looming and the Amstel even sooner, good news mind you my power is better than i expected and body fat is reducing

    Slowly getting there. Mileage increasing as the weather improves is helping no end.

    Updating the table on my phone is too much of faff, but I've been down to 69.7kg this week then back up to 71.0kg this morning. It's down to one University Open Day of buffets and sitting on trains. Took over 5 hours from Brum to Fleet getting home, and it seems to have triggered a migraine.
    The only consolation is that we were delayed enough to get a full refund for the homeward journey.

  • Woke up this morning on day off work, with stomach feeling a bit odd, but it felt like hunger. So I had cereal, but as soon as I took a sip of coffee, that stomach feeling rapidly became nauseous and one dry wretch! Downed the coffee, hoping to get the conversation on the big white telephone out of the way, but no dice...

    Went back to bed, holding an emergency vessel, while trying to get some more sleep.

    But two hours later, I've woken up and not lost any weight... Hopefully the day can now be a bit more constructive! :lol: :twisted:

    Finally a minute loss that I'm willing to "claim" as it's held steady for a week.
    Managed to mostly give up bread again, and since finding some good, filling recipes for tofu/seitan, am not feeling as hungry as I used to be late in the evening - second week i've managed to avoid eating any food after 8pm.
    Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.
    Bike 1 (Broken) - Bike 2(Borked) - Bike 3(broken spokes) - Bike 4( Needs Work) - Bike 5 (in bits) - Bike 6* ...

    Got back from holiday and I know i've put on weight, but haven't had the guts to weigh myself yet.

    Didn't actually eat or drink much particularly, but spent a lot of the time sedentary in trucks and cars travelling around. Not great weather to cycle at the moment, so planning some time at the gym this week.

    I was going to enter my weight in but at 66.7 kg's as opposed to the super size me 72kg's+ at roughly the same time last year, I decided not to.
    Only, i'm eating everything. It works :D
