and i've been riding 8+% climbs twice a day in the high teen mph for a couple of weeks with a heavy rucksack

Wow, that heading to race weight!
I've not been logging this year but am down to 82kg from 91kg.
Visible abs are and powering up hills in the mid teens are still a few kg off.I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0 -
felt bloated and fat all week in the Alps although prob. for the best given the effort. its actually nice to be back and eating healthy food again in fact since Monday i've dropped 3lbs and feel (cold aside) better.Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

After a couple of low miles weeks combined with a few more cals than normal I gained 4lbs, which took me half a week to lose again once I went back to my insane vegan diet and hard big ring hill climbing :?
It works but hell its not a long term plan.

Scales have been at 79kg all week - first time in about 10 years I've been consistently below 80 and a good improvement on the 87kgs I was back in March when I got back on the bike after recovering from breaking my wrist. Still a way to go until my lwt rower days mind."Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

Plan is basically to not be such a greedy guts. Will get hold of some whey to have with fruit and nuts for mid-morning and afternoon snacks (rather than crisps, my big weakness). Meals aren't too bad already but will try to reduce refined carbs here and there. Training wise, other than the commute I'd like to try and fit in a couple of weights sessions and a longer ride each week. 100 miles a week minimum on the bike is a reasonable goal.0 -
I've gained a few lbs post Marmotte and post family holiday to the Sarf of France and kinda resigned myself well getting fat again, but no oh no not so, this week I absolutely fecking nailed it, in fact to the point of feeling sick.
There you go weight dropping off, so all i have to do is spend the rest of my life flogging myself to within an inch of death :?

Started the year at 71.8kg but 7 months of working from home and the arrival of Sprog2 meant that I was 78.6kg as I lined up on the start line for the LondonSurrey 100.
Back commuting regularly (but still away from the bike for a week a month) and taking the single speed option, means I'm currently 74.4kg. Progress is good but I expect it to slow drastically in the near future.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

Not updated this in ages, but happy to say I've continued to lose weight. Seem to have leveled off at 75kg or 165lbs though. Not been doing many big rides recently though, and still haven't bothered changing my diet at all. Time to put in some extra KMs.0 -
