Bow before your new master you worms for I now own my "summer commute" climb 1 only about 10 more to go :?

1 miles avg 5% @ 12mph shameful but damn its hard, how they figure avg 5% I have no idea, my Garmin says 6-9% the whole way.

I'm a bit sleepy now too

Also if you're on here person that created the Andover station climb that's just odd, its like 100 yards or something, yes its a proper hill and yes i also OWN it but that's still odd.

I discovered a new training strategy on friday.
Barbecue after work, few beers then cycle home at about 11pm via a local hill, setting a new KOM in the process.
So, my conclusion is that beer and darkness are the key to faster cycling up hills.

Fairly gentle 3 hills with the KW but got a bit lost so ended up on Whitedown where I got a surprisingly decent time up. Okay, not Ed/IP/Hammond fast but better than I'd have expected.
Now that Box Hill has been resurfaced it's almost pleasant.

Prevailing winds last week meant that I got two Uh-oh emails in quick succession.

I may have had this in the back of my mind when I rode home on Friday and nailed both of them.

Two more uh-oh emails generated

Still cant find that route unaided. Homing pigeon I am not!
Can only get to box hill via the busy roads which is not much fun.

It takes time to learn the lanes, I am still pretty useless to be honest.

But knowing the top of coombe bottom/staple lane/green dene, and also the cross roads at top of effingham drag and white down, are usefull as they offer routes in most directions I find!

Right, I uploaded to Strava tonight and it appears my GPS is off as it appears that I rode though a load of houses on the right hand side of Church Road from the A316 to Richmond Hill. Is there any way I can manually match this?

@Padders - were you riding with some mates on the trail in RP yesterday? Three chaps seemed to be riding it yesterday and one of you stole from Roehamton-Richmond Gate KOM, while the other two came close. I think you also came close to the lap KOM. Stay away from that one. It's mine. IT'S MINE, I TELL YOU, ALL MINE!!!!

The last two days I've taken advantage of the weather to extend the commute and blast round on the RP trail, even ventured into Wimbledon Common this morning (4 off road KOMs in the bag!), I really should swap over to some proper cx tyres though as the GP4000s make for sketchy fun on the gravel corners.

Now I just need to find a few seconds on that particular segment

Padders gets about a brazillion achievements on every ride. I dread to think what will happen if he gets a lighter bike.
I keep an eye out for him in Bushy Park but I think he's too fast so I never actually catch a glimpse of him. If I do I'm going to try to lasso him to get my speed up.

but, but, but it's flat!
Impressive power output and speed mind you!

PS:- I am keeping quiet on my wins. Somebody will just take them if I go public 8)

Right, fcuk it! It's On! You're not having *my* KOM.

Fwiw, I used 30mm Mud 2s over the winter. They were fine, even for the Broomfield trail, but you could probably get away with a slightly psi now than you would during the winter.

Yeah, a bit of a misnomer, I'll give you. I was keeping the speed from the gun lower than usual so I could do the whole segment at a decent clip. Got stuck behind a learner driver towards the end. Can't complain too much mind, gives me somewhere to go if I get beat.

Nearly broke the 40 limit on this segment:

And still didn't get the KOM. And, you really should go public, it's much more fun.

Yes, yes it does. Lovely riding out here in Cyprus. Suspect the BA garrison Tri/cycling club may be a little miffed by some of my KOMmage. Cracking day up to mt Olympos yesterday. Bro in law laid down a gauntlet. A mate of his (sadly not on Strava) is training for SAS selection. Did Garrison to summit in 2:58. Didn't think I'd get close, but smashed myself to pieces and beat him by 50 seconds! Nothing in the tank today, attempted another Kom but was 2 mins off the top. Very nearly bonked as well. Cyprus is fantastic for riding, but a little hot. It was 32 degrees at 1000 feet today!

Packing for the flight home now. *sad face*

Good work! You should be happy for the extra competition, you're well ahead of the other seven people who've had a crack.

Unknowingly picked up this one the other day, didn't even know there was a segment there! But pleased with it considering the amount of times and people that have rode it.

I done myself in to get that first one - by one second. :P
I'll need a tailwind if someone tops it

There is a climb that has my name on it this week though. Already got third when I wasn't "participating"
