Sunday morning going to try and set out a new Col Du Balham record as don't like this joint First business.

Sunday morning I am going to have the wife driving up Balham Hill across two lanes very slowly while I stand at the top pressing the Pedx button......

    Might see you there James!!

Will be in my KOM jersey

Anyone want to hire a 1200cc Triumph Daytona with rider? Can carry cycle computers. A mate described it as being nearly as quick as the Millenium Falcon.

Could you pass through Feltham and give me a lift, or loan me some MTFU. Think I'm getting manflu for the weekend. Think I'll 'forget' to turn Strava on tonight.

Do you know where that starts and stops ? As might give it a blast on my way in to work tommorrow followed by a shooters hill if I have enough time.

I was a little cheeky this morning saw how quick I could do Balham Hill with no backpack or baggies on this morning should have really warmed up for sprinting up there as legs still feel pretty tight but beat my best time by a good chunk and still was'nt a perfect run as there was a bus stopped in the bus stop that was pulling out as i came up so saw my speed drop a little.

It ends about half way through the bus stop at the top and its starts roughly about 5 metres from where the road goes from two lanes to one
  • cool will give that blast on the way to work tommorrow!
  • oh mr itgeek you are a lucky lucky laddie I nearly went along the ludgershall dash this morning but as I was headed to stockbridge for the road race i cut off down red post lane. OMG I had stolen someones big ole powerful legs.

tomorrows commute is being finely fuelled with beer and wine as I write (wife's birthday so I am cooking and obviously drinking while I do :D ) so your time may (stress on may)be safe for another day !!!

I filtered by Team SCR and then This Week. Your ride on Monday 19th was faster than Jon's on 20th. JZed must have spent too much time toiling up Balham hill and so struggled on the way home.

Isn't there a better Westminster to blackfriars? One you have goes well past the bridge.

Well you say that, went right out my way to do the Shooters Hill segment/climb and came back to see I haven't got a time for it grrr! I must have not gone far enough at the top, I guess I had to go downhill at the other side!

At least i'm 2nd on Blackheath Hill should be easy enough to go first for a little while

Had a stab at Col du Balham Friday. Pretty clear run but I blew up halfway up.

Thats me and segments done for now - back to trying to get close to 20mph moving average over the commute.

I don;t think that's a bad idea, im arriving work so much more burnt out at the moment trying to smash segments have managed quite a few +20mph in one way to work but never make it back the other way above 19mph

Best I can do with all the stops on my route is 17mph avg, I checked my stopped time and it was over 5 mins
  • Another route, 2 more segments found. Streatham Hill>Brixton and The Highway.
Rather pleased with the time on both of them, not challenging for the top spot but considering I wasn't exactly gunning it on either of them I'm rather pleased with my 20mph average on each segment :-)

Sure there is some room for improvement on at least The Highway section as I backed off a little bit on my usual banzai drafting as it had just started drizzling so I was rather wary of braking whilst up the chuff of a lorry......

Will get another crack at both of them on Friday then everyday come next week :-D
