Sorry if this is elsewhere in the three but I've noticed Strava has finally started calculating power for my Garmin Forerunner 305 - but only on rides I've just uploaded. Older rides don't seem to have power. Anybody know anything about this? When I contacted them a while back they said that altitude on Forerunners was a problem.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

Millbank is on the road, whereas the Tamsin trail is shared use bikers/peds/dog walkers etc with no segregation or even marking as to which side each party should be. Big difference. NB, I'm not criticizing you cycling round there as we all know you're a responsible and safe cyclist. Some of the cyclists on there however are most definitely not and travel at speed when the trail is packed with walkers and they would do far better using the road. Yes, I know the Tamsin Trail was originally cyclist-only and it's a shame it's now shared-use etc..."Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"
"Don't be silly son, you're a bloke, you'll never grow up"0 -
No problem, didn't take it that way. The (ab)use of the trail, by all users, is an issue, so I head out very early and go dead slow when I come across other users. By comparison, Millbank is often chokka, and, whilst it's the road, you're travelling at twice the speed, amongst other riders putting the hammer down (hence the 'Sprint' in the segment title), amongst traffic. In terms of the potential consequences, they could be a lot worse on Millbank, and a Hillingdon-style pile-up on Millbank would give the press a field day.FCN 2-4.

Ooh - just found that I'm currently KOM on a segment I didn't create - the 13km climb on the Lance Twitter Ride - 3 other riders and I'm the heaviest by a margin too so I'm not great going up hills (despite all the practice I get).ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

Good effort on the weekly table Rob. Good to see although I don't have any KOM yet I'm still doing ok ha.
The short segments are almost not worth trying for,the errors are rife.
A segment that isn't that common but is a good test of how fast you are without being stopped by traffic is the one from Roehampton gate to Kingston Gate via Pens Ponds, there is another that is the same bu starts at Priory Lane end.
I'm still KOM for the one without Priory and 2nd by about 2 seconds for the one with Priory.Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0 -

Yeah, it's a good stretch. I rode that way tonight as it happens as I fancied a change, so created a segment for this tonight. The problem with it is that the possibility of deer on the path means you're likely to hold back.FCN 2-4.

Have also created one on the same route for the in-bound commute.
Was KOM until the board refreshed. Should have done a screen print. Doh!FCN 2-4.

Just moved over to shepherd's bush, so I actually have a decent way to cycle now. Straight south to Chelsea embankment, then all the way along to Westminster, Victoria embankment and popping up to Bank station.
Anyway, a friend pointed me at SCR and Bike Radar, and now I've got Strava I think I'll smash each segment on progressive days to get my PBs up :P0 -
Just looked at JZed's Sunday Laps, 146 segments!!! Even with laps and dupes, phew.0

I'm riding a vanilla Trek 2.5 at the moment.
I hope that now I'm west instead of east, was living at the bottom of the isle of dogs, it will be easier to get out for long weekend rides without having to go through of lot of really horribly maintained roads. If I keep that up I'll switch out the wheels during summer.0 -

Having been off the bike for a bit i had lost 2 of my 3 KOM's and hanging on to number 3 by a thread with mr Dhope just a second off the pace. Some kindly soul however has created a new super segment gathering many of the short CS7 ones and put me on top. Thank you mystery person, ego re inflated a bit.Bianchi Nirone C2C FCN40

I reckon I can find 2 seconds0 -
I have peaked on the hill I reckon. 2 nd ride back I went for it draughting a van and my chain jumped off! Resulting swollen knee gave me another 2 weeks rest. Sub 30 s is beyond me anyway.Bianchi Nirone C2C FCN40

I'm not sure I can average 33 up Balham to take back that one.0
