Yes. Suspect writing my performance review is going to get in the way of that though!

Not sure a SW wind really helps much, might provide a bit of assistance in the first half of the journey I suppose :D

The BBC is forecasting rain at 18:00, not too keen on that

Haha! I just found that I am 69/70 on the Thames Street Tower Hill climb!!! Awesome average of about 5mph!

    I rock!

This was actually on the London Sky Ride with my girls - that's my excuse anyway!

  • I learned my lesson about Stravaing non-'serious' rides when I logged half of a Boris bike journey that not only had an average speed of about 5mph over 1.5 miles or so, but also quite clearly showed that I'd ended my ride by pedalling slowly down Old Compton St and parking up on a side-street there.

Rest assured I shall be much more secretive about my double life in future.
  • I seriously cant deal with that wind on the way home!!

I need a tow from SE to SW!
  • off to RP to well mainly roll along in the sun and get a coffee + cake. plus meet up with wife for shopping.

So traffic was quiet into kingston really quite quiet, I like booting it over the bridges, so I gave it a wee go over Kingston bridge and clawed another second out, so I'm back to quadruple 1st place, technically 2nd but since the 1st place looks very much a GPS woopsy.

1st is definitely fishy there. His average for the bridge is much higher than any point he reaches on the speed graph as I recall.

As said on the SCR thread, I felt good this morning so went for the millbank north segment, missed KOM by a few seconds, but went in at second. Reckon in the summer I'd have it, or even with a slightly more favourable wind.

I saw your post on PH congrats on the win btw!

I doubt I will get a commute in this week with Christmas Parties and a horrific cold I have :(

Left crank arm on my Condor failed at the bottom of Priory Lane this morning, so I had to cycle back home one-footed and get the S-Works out. With the fast bike, a nice tailwind and much less traffic at the end of rush-hour I smashed it up along the Embankment and was sure a few PRs and even a possible KoM could be mine ... only to find I had forgotton to turn the damn Garmin on

Were you next to me this morning Ed? About 8.10 at the priory lane lights? I was on a ribble with green top and orange bag...

No - I was there a bit later first time round - and a lot later second time round! Will look out for you though.

What time was this? I saw someone cycling one-footed along the trail between Roehampton Gate and the Sheen Cross (ballet school) roundabout just after 9 and was wondering what they were doing.

Quite a slow one for me this morning. Too much wine and roast dinner last night meant I was feeling very queasy and was coughing up some nasty gunk too so just rode tempo and didn't push for any segments.

Yeah, I guess that was me. It's probably not a common sight! Bloody hard work though

Yep, excellent result on Saturday, Rob. Well done.

    How do you create segments?

KOM on Chelsea Embankment RH to CB this morning :P But I did have the draft of a speeding rubbish truck for half of it. This morning was payback for last night!

Obviously he jumps red lights - the only possible reason that I can think of that makes him so much faster than me over my own route . . . . .
Fixed gear for wet weather / hairy roadie for posing in the sun.

    What would Thora Hurd do?

Just discovered there's a segment for a CW lap of the trail in RP. Just got 3rd :D .

Would only recommend having a stab at this early morning, before the trail gets busy.

That'll probably get flagged as dangerous before too long. Could you imagine the DailyMail-esque comments should some pimple-faced hack from one of the local bogsheets find out and runs it as a shock horror cyclists are killing everyone piece?

The problem is that the same argument could be levelled against a lot of the other segments e.g. Millbank sprint. Definitely best to go early, before the runners and walkers are out in force. Fwiw, my segment contained a good few slowing points.
