We ended up going round. Probably could have been a smidge quicker but traffic was in the way.0

I remember when I used to ride down there and sometimes the wind was just ridiculous! Surprising that wasn't the case.0

It was quite strong when I got to VB and the gust coming down Victoria Bridge Road was quite substantial, I was leaning into it. Similar in Richmond Park, some bloke on deep sections with pathetic legs was just being moved across the road, I undertook him at speed with one gear. I hope he got home and ebayed his bike.Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0 -

Been meaning to go and take a local segment for years now; I don't often go in that direction but noticed a tri-antelope was now on top so decision made. The predicted tailwind was non-existent but about 500w for a minute sorted it out either way.

Pulled a sickie in order to watch TdF cobble stage and - I guess it was karma rebalancing things - some bugger used the lovely headwind last night to pinch one of my few KOMs.
It is a really nasty KOM to get as well - three sets of "traffic calming measures" and the Chelsea Tractors slow to about 20kph to get through them and screw up the run0 -
First commute from new house and I got a 6th all time on a segment. When I checked some pratt had set it up from a dead-end to a junction over 0.5kms. That was on a find my way pootle so put some effort in the next day and got the KOM!!0

two WFH days this week and two new KOMs both proper (not col du Balham) short climbs 5-7%
over 8% for any length and i'm blowing out my ar$e
my form at the moment is the best its been all year combined with a lean body weight for me and low body fat but all for nothing as i'm about to go on holiday to ....Florida

Decided to try and keep cadence at low 90's and speed in the 20's where I could and knocked my cw rp laptime down to 20.37 last time which after my first proper ride since leg fracture on saturday (was hard) was doubly nice.Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

Missed out on taking back my favourite KOM by one second - not happy. Looked at weather forecast to see if I would have a tail wind today - headwind in the morning and by the evening 180 degree shift in winds for a headwind in the evening too. Going to pub instead0

anyone else having garmin connect issues syncing to strava today? My activity feeds looks emptier today so guessing it's not just me...Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

Yup, mine hasn't synched yet0

Mine was fine today but I had the same problem the last 2 days - I had to upload the .fit file directly via the USD cable. Was annoying, but then it seemingly started synching againDolan Titanium ADX 2016

No issues at all here with GC -> Strava. Took a while to appear in GC at all yesterday though (uploaded at around 1730BST) but in to Strava as fast as ever.0

Haha, I worry Jon has taken my singlespeed comment seriously - just to clarify, TT bike for this, I think the fastest solo roadbike time is from Lawrence Carpenter on that list.
Just have to wait for Gabriel to have a crack at lowering it again now, slightly easier for him to pick the best day as I think he's probably on holidays from college/school currently.Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0 -

I remember a brief conversation in the Morpeth around the time he was considering starting (sniping behind his back would probably be an apt description) where it was commented that there was a lot of bravado on the forum for someone that hadn't raced at all yet.
We all nodded sagely, safe in the knowledge that he would soon be brought back to earth and exposed as more DDD than Hutch.
We may have been wrong...0 -
About when I did 4/5 years ago... and as you can see, there isn't much benefit to structured training over commuter racing. :oops:0
-
Haha, I like it. Forum bravado is all part of the game 'if' you can at some point back it up of course.
Yes about 4 years, though I have put this off for a long time as its hard to motivate for, I probably could have done a very similar time to Gabriel last summer, but I'm a bit faster this year. I've kind of sacrificed the road racing a bit this year in place of TT's, so I need to get my act together otherwise I'll be back to 2nd cat owing to a lack of racing!Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0 -

I did see you on the SS yesterday. Was funny when you put a minor dig in to shift the millbank fairies...0 -
I love the fact that a tour de france time trial winner (in fastest pace ever I believe) is one place below you on one sector.
