I finally remembered to press the button on my android phone on the way in this morning
Game on, climbers
No threat on "time trial" jersey from me, I'd have to beat my best time by several minutes0 -
Seems there's a Strava API.
I might see if I can knock together a page that shows only official SCR approved segments0 -
Nice leaderboard Rob, thanks.
Can I suggest a few more possible segments?
Blackfrairs>Westminster Bridge (although it's a strange and wrong segment i still like it )

Also, Millbank Southbound. Current leader must be a rocket

Thanks Wrath Rob, Think I'll find the links for JZeds segments tonight if he hasn't posted by them. I seem to be doing quite well out of them ^_^ (possibly due to normally hitting the stretches late)FCN 9 || FCN 50

I get picked up as the Westminster> Blackfriars Ramp segment for some reason. In fact there are more SCR folk against that segment than the one you've picked to cover the same stretch.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

Looks like he warmed up at the redbridge cycling centre by doing a few laps (obviously in preparation for this), took a train to liverpool street, then steeled himself for the sectionFCN 9 || FCN 50 -

He is a rocket. 2nd Cat now I think. Mountain goat like JG.0 -
Have added a northbound london bridge segment as the existing one ends way past where I turn before the lights to go down to lower thames street., I might get some times now over it.0

Going to see if there is a way to suggest to strava they add an option to 'flag' people/rides.
Although he may be legitimate, I suspect Doug Monro is doing all of his commuting on a motorbike.
On his most recent kom segment over waterloo bridge if we assume his tracking is accurate, he managest to accelerate from 20 km/h to 77km/h in 5 seconds.
Is this in the realms of a top track cyclist?

Or in old money 12mph to 48mph between 2 seconds and 5 seconds into the segment, that's some wattage.0

Is it just me or is anyone else paranoid aobut the fact that posting GPS data on a public forum shows people where you park your bike at either end of your ride? I'd recommned hitting lap shortly after setting out and just before getting to work then posting that up. Just a thought.--

If you can go into settings you can set it to blank out a certain distance around postcodes so that you appear/disappear at the start and end of rides.0 -

I trim the start and end off my gpx files before I upload them. Since I'm exporting from Garmin Connect anyway it's just an extra step.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

Cool. Genius that is.
Only reason I'vwe not posted is that I don't have the correct cable. Easily fixed though.... Watch this space.--

Stupid Garmin is on the fritz again, at least for the home journeys. I've removed all of the FIT files now so hopefully that will fix it.

1. Have you tried turning it off and then on again
2. If 1 did not work have you tried hitting it with a hammer.0 -

What version of the formware are you on? When I got my 500 (early adopter) the FIT files occasionally got corrupted when the activity wasn't reset before plugging into the PC. Lost a few rides that way. Sometimes just the corrupted files were missing but occasionally they stopped all subsequent rides appearing in history.0 -
Latest version, which I've reinstalled. It seems to be linked to me starting the ride before satellite reception has been locked on, so this morning I made sure it had got reception before hitting the start button. Hopefully that will be the problem solved. Otherwise that will be the 3rd ride home missed. Glad I'm not on the stats table!FCN3: Titanium Qoroz.0

Fu(king phone! Was really looking forward to this morning ride, I had been to an eat-all-you-can pan Asian buffet (largest in the UK!) last night and ate until I couldn't stomach any more meat so felt rather "good" for the ride in this morning.
Buried it up Col du Balham, even overtaking a bus on the first rise as not to hold me up then gave it a fairly good effort on Millbank, hitting a flying start as I had a green coming of VB and keeping it pinned until LBR.
Get to work and stop the ride, hit Save and get the "This ride contains no valid data" error    WTF!!!! Seems my GPS had turned off for some god forsaken reason. VERY nearly threw my phone across the car park.......
Me thinks I may be adding a Garmin 800 to my Xmas wishlist (or at the very least a 705 if they are discounted nicely........) to feed my new stats addiction :-)
Anyhow I can have another crack tomorrow as I'm back at an office that means I can use CS7 again.0 -
I was on a ropey '70's folder with 3 speed Sturmey Archer this morning (long story) so that would have made an interesting comparison if I had turned Strava on. Only thought about it half way to work.0

Thought since my 125cc scooter is back on the road I would campare how I get on with it. Didnt manage to break any of my segment best times and was no quicker on my way in this morning. Bit of a waste of time and money getting it sorted!Banstead in Surrey to Russell square and back
