Well my Spectral got delayed from week 13 to week 19 so I told them where to go. Went and bought a Radon Slide 150 10 instead. Great bike can thoroughly recommend them (The frames do look very similar, almost as though they've been built in the same factory).

Did both loops of Cannock chase twice yesterday and the bike was awesome. Pikes FTW.

I was ready to jump ship too but my other option was a giant trance 2 and the wait on that would be 10 weeks so thought I'd stick with the spectral and hope for the best. I imagine there's a few folk loosing confidence though and buying something else. I just hope after all this waiting it arrives in one piece! I sold my old bike to buy this one so four weeks without a bike is four weeks too long. If it arrives in time for the weekend I'll be ecstatic :D Hope everyone else waiting on here gets some good news soon too.

That was my problem Kate. My bike had been stolen last september, and after the insurance payout was struggling to last this long waiting for the bike. News of the delay, and little confidence they would also keep to that date soon had me looking at other alternatives.

Sweet! Is this a large? Edit - just spotted the 'M' sticker on the frame!

Also, rattler - did you order a spectral 8 in a large by any chance?

Yes. Why you ask, have they had the most delays.

How is anyone else getting on with the ergon sm30 seat? Loving the bike but thinking the seat is a bit painful

Well, it's quite interesting as mine was also delayed in week 12-13 (cant remember which week I had the dreaded email!) but they only delayed it by one week, so Wk15 for me now, certainly not wk19. I definitely would have cancelled by now. But it's interesting why we have been specified earlier/later delivery dates on the same bike!!!

I spoke to Robin (UK office) on Tuesday, who was very helpful to be fair & said I could cancel at anytime - he also said though that it's looking very likely I'll be getting on said WK15? If they're telling e porkies & it does turn out to be WK19 - Byebye order! :(

So here's my Spectral. It arrived yesterday at 2pm (only 1.5 days delivery from Germany) and it looks ace! Really straight forward to put together. Got a bit worried when the forks looked like 120mm not 140 but quickly realised there was no air in them! I can't work out whether it's tubeless or has inner tubes? The wheels look super chunky though! It feels really light and well balanced. Not sure about the grips so ordered some Superstar lock on's. In terms of protection provided by Canyon there was a bit of heli tape type stuff under the bottom tube but only about an inch and a half wide and about 8 inches long and there is heli tape patches where the cable touches the frame. The chain stay protector doesn't really offer any protection for behind the chain ring so I've heli taped this area just in case. It's a size medium (same geometry as the mens medium) and at 5.7 the size feels spot on for me. The bike looks big but think it's the chunky wheels as the reach feels prefect for me. I'm taking it for it's first ride on the Quantocks tomorrow so will let you know how I get on :D

That looks really super Kate. I hadn't realised it was a womans version I was looking at on the websitre when I saw the colours for the first time and was a little disappointed when I couldn't get one.

    Went stealth instead on mine.

Just a bit of an update on my experience so far with Canyon.

I posted up in November 13 initially, my new Strive had arrived damaged. Canyon sorted it out really well and I had another within a week or so.

Since then I've ridden the bike a lot, lots of different terrain and riding styles and I absolutely love it. Climbs well, descends even better and is an all round comfortable bike. I bottom out the rear shock every now and then and I'll be either putting a few cc's of grease or a proper volume reducer in the air can soon.

I did have cause to go back to canyon over a few niggles though, especially with the wheels, Sun Ringle Charger Experts. I broke a few spokes during the first month or so and had new ones sent out. Then the free hub died - the pawl retaining spring snapped a mile from the car at Ladybower. They sent me a new one no questions asked. Then the rear hub bearings seized, I was getting a bit miffed at this point and sent a strongly worded email.
Two weeks later I was sent a brand new 2014 wheel set - same brand and model but updated.

The new rims have been great so far, did a 50 miler on Monday and they're ok. The bonus is I have replaced the bearings in the originals and fitted lighter narrower tyres for summer events, MTL, Sam Houghton etc.

Overall I'm still happy I made the right choice, I could have done without the issues but Robin et al dealt with them well and I'm still a happy customer.

PS. Love those Spectrals! Your tyres have tubes in them. The rims are tubeless ready but you will need to buy tubeless valves.

Well ive had my 6.0 for nearly 6 weeks now ive had to put volume adjusters in my rear shock but that is only because im a fat git cant say i blow through the whole rear travel maybe 90% before i added the spacers and is now fine

Its all about set up, i run one bike with 125mm travel and never run out, while my other bike is 140mm and again never run out of travel. Next canyon in the post is only 100mm and probably won't run that full on ethier!

Just set the sag right, get the right amount of air in the can's and enjoy the ride!

    Right spectral owners,
    Possible suspension issue?
rear fox float shock when locked off for assent still has some movement in it, it's still bobing just wondering if it a faulty shock?
Sag has been set up correctly and is currently running about 230 psi. Anyone else having the same issue or when locked off is your solid like a hardtail?
My mates Giant trance x2 has no movement when locked off its totally solid like a hardtail.
Will phone canyon tomorrow and check.

    Cheers gaz

Surely if you're using 90% of your travel in your typical riding (and have the right bike for what you're using it for - not, for example, using a 160mm travel bike for pottering down the canal towpath) then that's setup pretty much bang on - using almost all your travel, without actually bottoming out (but a little in reserve). No point having more travel than you're using, surely?

My Nerve 29er is the same. Call Mojo up and tell them the 4 digit ID code and they will tell you if it has a custom tune on it. Mine does, a light compression tune I think, so it might be the same for you. You can send it to Fox to tune or you can put in some volume spacers, but I find it OK with a bit of travel anyway.

Be sure to check your service intervals on the forks and shock too; Fox recommend every 30 hours.

Just phoned mojo, as you have said, apparently canyons come with a low compression tune, so all is good

My Grand canyon cf sl 7.9 arrived today only took 2 months - the ups information was a nightmare said they were still waiting to pick it up when chased canyon they advised should be collected in a couple of days - it was delivered to me that day??? So information very poor but am over the moon with the bike not had a chance to ride it out yet. Has any one any ideas what PSI the forks should be at it has this adjustment on the handle so what position should this be in when adding air. I did not find the fox site very useful at all - confused me more than anything. Cheers for your help

Thinking about getting some speshi ground controls as run them on my 26er camber and feel comfortable on those in 29er style.

Did work out what the creaking was? Had a creak on a bike once, and couldn't work out where it was coming from. Turned out to be the seat post.

Sorry can't be of more assistance.

Its the Alu version of the Grand Canyon 6.9, can't fault the bike, Reba's up front with an axle really stiff front end. The Avids where the only thing I had doubt with but they seem ok on the test run. I like the colour its a bit different so will stand out if I lose it at some point.
