Anyone help on sizing before ordering please? I've emailed Canyon directly, but thought I may as ask the experts here too!

I'm looking to order a Spectral 8.0 and want to make sure I get the right size! ;)

When I put my measurements into their calculator, changing them by even 1 or 2cm changes the recommended frame size from Small to Medium and vice versa, don't want to end up with the wrong size and have to wait for the right size again...

If it helps, my approximate measurements are :-

    Height - 177cm
    Weight 77kg
    Inseam - 82cm
    Torso - 68cm
    Shoulders - 39cm
    Arms - 63cm

I ride a medium Boardman FS Pro that feels fine and a small Morewood Kwela that also feels fine, confused, lol! :)

Edit: 7 minutes after I emailed Canyon, I got a reply saying that the Medium would be the best fit for me, can't get better than that! 12 week wait though...

    same here

    height 188
    weight 88kg
    inseam 84cm
    Torso 72cm
    shoulders 48cm
    arms 62 cm

medium was recommended so I have dropped them a mail.

    also on a spectral 8

    Opinion needed!

My Spectral (Red chrome) order was put back to week 21. That is a long wait. Having just looked at the Canyon website I note that week 21 may now be week 19 but still 1.5 month wait.

However, the raw club colour Spectral (medium) is now showing as in stock. Can't decide what to do. Grin and bear the wait for the Red, or swap the order for the Raw Club. Just not sure about the raw colour having not seen one in the flesh. What would you do??

Have you phoned canyon U.K., they were nice enough yesterday when I called, and they could confirm delay/options?

Not sure on both colors, that's why I went with black on my al 8.0

opinions vary, for me colour is not all important but at the same time if I am spending that amount of money I want things to be right, so I would wait.

I appreciate in the MTB world 2.4k isn't mega bucks but it is big spend for me.

I went black because I didn't like the red but it's just opinion

Little problem i would like advise on.
I thought one of the stickers on my forks had been put on badly at the factory but on closer inspection it seems to be a deep scratch about 1 mm deep and 4cm long! It looks like its had some damage and they have replaced the sticker to cover it up . I took a photo but it does not show that well as it was dark and with flash ... What you reckon???

    Very nice. And very jealous.

I am not happy though. Just had an email telling me that my week 13 delivery is not going to happen now due to production issues. It is now week 21...two months!!!!!!

I feel your pain. Mine was due week 18 now 21, but its only 3 weeks and keep telling myself it will be worth the wait!

Just got the dreaded email from canyon (see below), what chance getting another next week saying wk24 or whatever!!! if they delay it anymore than a couple of weeks I will need to seriously think about cancelling and buying something else, ffs it was ordered at the start of November get a grip!!!!

We'd like to share with you some more information on your order for a Spectral AL 8.0. Your order was due to ship in Week 12 but has regrettably been delayed and is now due to ship in Week 13, due to some capacity issues at our factory in Germany it has been delayed

    Hey guys,

New to the forum but been reading up on some of these delivery issues people are having regards to the new Spectral, with interest.

I too have one on order (LARGE AL 8.0 in Black) which was supposed to be delivered in CW14 & now has been put back a week - Not a massive set back, but still testing my patience & it's not guaranteed to even be shipped in said CW15! Seriously been contemplating cancelling altogether & purchasing a Stumpy next week!!!

Soooo, where do I stand in the way of out right cancelling the order? Can I cancel before shipment date & nip it in the bud this week, or would I have to wait for it to be delivered etc. etc.??

Update on my al8.0, sent an email to canyon HQ In Germany and got this email reply below,
Everything looks good with your order on our system, its showing as ready to ship next week. We can't say exactly which day I’m afraid.

Phoned the UK customer service department as well on fri , and was told that my bike IS built and due to ship canyon wk13 as per previous email, so looks ok but time will tell!!
Not 100% convinced this will happen but hopeful, I had pressed the guy a bit and he said it would defo be next week so will just need to wait and see.

Cheers for the update Gazcarsf1!!!So thats this coming week for you! :) Out of interest, did you order a Large? Keep us posted on your correspondence...

As per my original question, do you think I can cancel my order at anytime?? It doesn't say anything about cancellation within the period of ordering & delivery in the T's & C's so I'm just curious to find out if I am eligible to do this?! :?

    Thanks in advance!

Post some side on photographs of you on the bike. An L would potentially be very large though. I'm 177cm with short legs and my M (not this year's model) is perfect.

I'm the same height as you mate, I've got the small fits great, done a good few rides on it and not ached from frame sizing inc one 50 miler , and can really throw it around. A med may fit me to but very sure a large would be very over the top , unless you've got bloody long arms :D
