Hi

Just bought myself a Canyon CF Sl 7.9 16" bit worried about size am 5"7 have ordered small not had a chance to ride one and theres a 7 week waiting list. What do you think am I about right with the size any one also got one of these what do you think - my mate has the cf sl 8.9 but they are sold out of the 16" and can not stretch to an SLX. Feed back would be great

hi I did not find that helpful when I rang them very direct did not feel me with too much confidence so I thoughts I see what you guys thought

Anyones bike come with the canyon in house Iridium Trail sattel saddle? I was wondering what they are like or what they compare to from a brand like fizik which i am used to.

I am trying to decide if i need to upgrade this.

Ok, at the risk of boring you all... I have made my mind up. Having looked at geometry of various bikes, read countless forums on the pros and cons of 120mm v 140mm and thought long and hard about my use for the bike, am am going for the Spectral.

The main factor was the steep head head angle and short wheelbase of the Nerve. Want as much confidence going downhill as possible and a bit of of extra squish might make life easier on my aging bum. Could not shake the feeling that the head angle and wheelbase of the Nerve might not be quite as fun going down, even if the Spectral might require a little more to get it up the hills.

I'm not a technical rider either so the extra bounce might be more forgiving.

So, only decision left... Which colour.

I've just taken delivery of my new Nerve AL 9.9, five working days after ordering. By any standards, that's pretty quick service.
Just limbering up for the assembly...

very jealous my cf sl 29 going to take about 7 weeks ahhhhhh!!! if only i was taller the medium size they have in stock in the slx

I'm 5 '7 to , had 1st ride on my nerve at the weekend fits fine but if it was half an inch bigger all the better, got to say was paranoid as hell before ordering it, and also on 1st ride , is it to small blah blah.
If you've rode the old nerve well sat on one as I did , I found the sizings the same as the old med and small, the small a decent snug fit and the med a bit to stretched.

Bike turned up today And i'm still not sure if i got the right size. I wet for a large nerve al+ even thought the site said medium. Danm my borderline legs ... Oh well i have 6 and a half days to decide :?

Did anyone order there Canyon with the 750ml bottle, if so could they measure the height of it as I've fitted a side loader bottle cage and I wonder if this will fit into my medium sized frame?

Spectral AL 6.0 ordered! In Chrome Red.
So now the waiting begins. The availability chart said 24th to 29 March. Is this likely to be fairly accurate? Not sure how long it will take to get my order confirmation but hopefully should know my eta within the next day or so.

Right i am in a bit of a predicament, I am trying to convince myself the large is ok but i know if i had a medium i would not be wondering if i should have bought a large .
Has anybody got experience of sending a bike back ??
To add to my woes canyon are all out of nerve al+ 8's in medium . I guess they might keep a few frames back for such an event. Who knows ! its all getting to stressful.....

Excellent, thanks for that, just measured my old bottle which also measures 250mm and that just fits in the frame with my new side loader bottle cage.

Alas, I knew it was too good to last. I'm sending it back, the geometry is just wrong for me and I knew as soon as I threw a leg over it which of course is the one thing you don't get to do with Canyon. Everything else about the bike was great but I would never feel confident riding it over the terrain for which it is designed.
Back to the drawing board...

Seen your post in my other thread, think the only difference from Spectral 6 to 7 is a few XT upgrades over SLX and the wheels. Not an expert but i think the Fox fork is pretty much the same aside from the Talas.

Mine is due for delivery for WK14, hopefully its better weather by then!

Pretty much what I concluded. Seeing as the 6 was stretching my max budget will be sticking to that.

Put my order in on Wednesday and although had the initial email haven't had the formal order confirmation yet giving me an eta for delivery. How long does that normally take?

Basically standover height being just on inside leg measurement. This wouldn't be a problem on it's own, the actual dimension being not much more than my current bike. However, the top tube on nearly all the Canyon models rises quite steeply from that point forward, compared with the gentle slope on my current Trek and in contrast to the downward swoop on the missus' Cannondale. If I persist in wanting a 29er (which having riden three different makes, I think I will) then finding something with a swoopy top tube is where I need to be.

Week 13 delivery on the invoice so hopefully that won't move as not too long to wait.

One question on the invoice it refers to Delivery Condition being "ex works". Assume that is normal?

Ex Works is an Inco-term from the logistics and means we will ship your bike with UPS until your house door.

"Ex-works" means direct sale from the factory, no distributor, no wholesaler, no shop.

hi there new here ive had my spectral for 3 weeks now and loving it took it to bikepark wales and cwmcarn last weekend and it just took everything I could throw at it even a really big crash so glad I opted for the large as I reckon a medium would of been a little on the small side.

I am not happy though. Just had an email telling me that my week 13 delivery is not going to happen now due to production issues. It is now week 21...two months!!!!!!

Anyone help on sizing before ordering please? I've emailed Canyon directly, but thought I may as ask the experts here too!

I'm looking to order a Spectral 8.0 and want to make sure I get the right size!

When I put my measurements into their calculator, changing them by even 1 or 2cm changes the recommended frame size from Small to Medium and vice versa, don't want to end up with the wrong size and have to wait for the right size again...

If it helps, my approximate measurements are :-

Height - 177cm
Weight 77kg
Inseam - 82cm
Torso - 68cm
Shoulders - 39cm
Arms - 63cm

I ride a medium Boardman FS Pro that feels fine and a small Morewood Kwela that also feels fine, confused, lol!

Edit: 7 minutes after I emailed Canyon, I got a reply saying that the Medium would be the best fit for me, can't get better than that! 12 week wait though...
