Ok, I'll keep the faith, it should be here next week.
I quiet like the look of their 29ers too. Need to get one sooner rather than later for racing.
I'll wait till the TOURQUE is here first though.
Apparently there has been a supply problem with the Cane Creek DB, this may be the reason for the delay..?0 -
Hi all, I am new here, just joined the forum this minute to state my experience and ask for yours.
I got a Lux MR back in 2011, great bike and its so fast but I have had so much trouble with it, first frame the bottom chain stay broke/cracked on the first test in my street, strange. It started off like the gears jumped whenever accelerating quite hard or when climbing, eventually became an all mighty crack!!!, second one was a bad build, spacers missing from the bearings by the dropouts, had loads of play in the rear triangle, got some spacers sent over, fitted them but it still had play, the bottom pivot had shifted over, third had scratches and chips all over the frame close to looking second hand which they assured me it wasn't, could of been through transit i suppose, fourth one which i have now is another one with play in the rear triangle to which they said they'd charge me 60euros to check. So I took it apart and built it back up, seemed fine after a few test runs on the smooth stuff, but the first ride out on the ridgeway, the play came back. FML!!!!!!! I have been really unlucky i think. I havent ridden it for a while now. Any one else got play in their rear triangle at all. Its at the pivot by the BB.0 -

I do think you have been unlucky between me and my riding mates we have 7 Canyons all various models and ages and have not had any issues at all other than normal wear and tear.0 -
Bloody hell. Sounds unfit for purpose, not unlucky. I'd be all over them.0

Well what a bloody nightmare I've had with Canyon bikes.
Got bike delivered 20th of December and it felt like canyon had been shut since then    . I ordered a Nerve Al+ medium and it had a rattle inside the downtube. Managed to speak to Daniel on the 'hotline' on the 2nd of January and he agreed to replace the bike.
I am right in between the small & medium sizes and the medium felt large so I thought I would take this opportunity to try the small. I requested the small by email, had no communication for days then I get email confirming the replacement is on its way. The next morning Daniel phones myself to say a medium  is on its way and he proceeded to try and convince me that mediun is my correct size.
We shall see, the PPS says I'm a medium but my inseam length is 82cm but if I was 81cm I would be SMALL according to the PPS. Hoping to get out on it at the weekend but I need dry conditions? :?
What do you lot think, my height is 177cm. To be at my normal comfortable height I would need to have the reverb stealth dropped abouts 1cm. So I can't have it fully extended.0 -

I know it's a pain but it might worth seeing if you could try some smaller cranks?0 -
Did you try to see what was causing the rattle? Might've been something easily fixed - granted it shouldn't happen but less hassle than sending it back.2011 Canyon XC 8.0 (Monza Race Red)

must be one in a million then, need to get back on it and see what happens, if it breaks at least they already know about my concern in the mltiple emails they've had from me. I took it apart agin last night and refitted everything, we'll see how it goes next week. It's just really really irritating.0

I am almost exactly your height and bought a medium in the Nerve AM in 2012. I like a short stem and a small wouldnt work. But I got a 100mm reverb and that works fine. A 125mm would need to be dropped a bit for me0 -

Did you try the Small from canyon?
Reach is spot on for me on the medium, I have an issue with stand over height on the toptube. Also I like a more relaxed reach to the pedals0 -

I just emailed Canyon about the rear mech hanger I ordered shortly after my bike, I contacted them initially to ask which number hanger I needed, it turns out they mistakenly told me the wrong one which I then bought, they got back to me within minutes saying the correct one is on it's way free of charge, they've not even asked for the other one back. Great service, not that I expect anything else but feel they get a lot of bad press regarding post-sale support, thought I'd share my positive story0

Super excited about my new nerve al 6 that arrived this morning only to open the box and discover an aeroad CF 9.
Much as I would love to have a full carbon dura ace road bike to add to my quiver, I ordered a mountain bike for a reason...
Credit to them though...they are sending out the next nerve al 6 that comes out of the factory and throwing in a multitool for my trouble. Shame I'll have to wait a week to get it.0 -

Wow that is quite some substitution. 3000 quid price difference? Must have been tempted to keep your mouth shut and wait 2 weeks...0 -
My replacement(medium)bike has finally been put together. But what a nightmare those matchmaker lever clamps are  . Need 3 hands. And canyon have the cables messed up, I think. So its took a while to get how I like it. 8)
But the rear brake is soft/faulty. Air in the line most likely? :?: The lever goes all the way to the grip.
And ain't been able to take it for a spin. If it isn't raining it's snowing.
What should I do? :? :?: :roll:0 -

I have the new Formula T1's and they are very soft, like yours almost to the point where they touch the grip. I have emailed customer services to ask whether they need bleeding or whether this is due to Formula's new feel system but surprise surprise no reply yet (1Week)0 -

Yeah but canyon state that I'm able to have a 5mins test ride in dry conditions. Not a blizzard. :roll:0 -

The bike is a nerve Al+ 7.0 and it came specified with Avid Elixir 5's. The front brake is fine, only the rear is soft. 1st bikes rear brake was rubbing/touching, as if it was overfilled :?

Can't say I wasn't, but when some guy gets a bottom of the range mountain bike instead of his ridiculous carbon fibre rocket ship, he might make a bit of a fuss that would lead back to me!0 -

No guesses at what ill be doing tomorrow
Before...

After lol.. Was a good ride apart from the ground was either frozen and icey as hell or really boggy and muddy. I should of changed my tyres before the ride but it was a last minute one so couldnt be bothered.

The mud on the spokes shows where it was sinking up to.

So it turns out Canyon are terrible at telling you what is going on...
I have just got off the phone with them to ask when they are going to send me the right bike as currently it is showing up as in stock on their website. Turns out.."from stock" means they haven't even built the batch yet.
guess I'm waiting another week for them to build the bike and ship it out. (no wonder they tried to fob me off with the £3.5k road bike)
It seems to me that they could gain a huge amount of good will by changing their shipping estimates out by a week and then routinely beating them, rather than stating an availability date and missing it. They would also get a whole lot less calls from concerned customers wondering why their bike is taking so long.0
