Other than 1kg more weight, 10mm more front & rear travel, ten less gears and a chain guide, what's the difference between the Strive AL and the Nerve AL+ ?
I'll be using the bike for Welsh and Scottish trail centres. I prefer the look of the Strive compared to the Nerve AL+ but other than what I've listed above I don't see too many differences. Would the Strive be overkill for what I ride?
I currently ride a 2007 Stumpjumper FSR Comp with 120mm travel, I want something with more travel and more capability. The Stumpy weighs 13kg, the Strive's are roughly 14kg and the Nerve AL+ around 13kg

I didn't really expect to get it until early Jan. Only managed a 45 minute blast around the block through the floods but I'm well chuffed so far
Burnside that looks really nice.
I am looking to order one shortly is yours a large and how tall are you ?
I'm 6' 3" and canyons sizing tool puts me in a large but I am not convinced it will be big enough
Thanks

I'm 6' 4 and the Large is fine for me, I spent a while trying to decide as I think either L or XL would be OK but I managed to have a sit on someone's L Nerve XC and decided it was fine. Personally I'd prefer slightly too small than slightly too big. The sizing tool also put me on a Large.0 -
I'm looking at a 29er, but their sizing chart has me down for a small 16.5, surely that can't be right ? I have a medium fs and a large HT ??0

Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago, great service and a superb bike .
Good mate. I've got a Strive and it's a brilliant bike.
I'm interested in the fact that the 2013 Strive models have the stealth seatpost and where the cable runs to an from. Is there a chance that you can show us some pics of where the cables run from the bar, into the frame etc?
Merry Xmas
David
the stealth runs down the outside of the downtube and enters the seat tube on the non drive side. i'll try to get a pic for you later.
here you go http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/9058351/ribble sportive for the black stuff

Hi Dave.
I'm 6ft 2.5" and the sizing thing on the website put me as a Medium??!
I went for Large as I always have with all of my bikes and I'm happy with my choice. I'm more torso than leg so I only have the dropper post about 1" above its minimum height.0 -
My new AL+ 7 just cleaned after trip to llandegla, great bike!!

I have a medium Canyon Nerve AM, I am going to buy a reverb. Does anyone have one for a medium and can tell me the size they have? I know it is a 30.9 but drop and length?0

It's based on how much post you have exposed and in the frame, so only you can know what size you need. Measire from where the seatpost enters the frame to the saddle rails. IIRC a 125mm drop reverb is 190mm from the collar to rails, the 100mm drop one is 165mm. The seatpost length is based on how much you need to safely fit.0 -
Hello,
I was to choose between torque ex gapstar and strive al 7.0. Finally I think to pick the strive because I will also do uphill and I think torque is not so helpful. But what do you think doing DH with strive? is it good enough? The 160mm of suspension travel is good? Finally what is the experience of the guys that own a gapstar from uphill?
Finally my height is 194cm - 6.4 inc with 90cm inseam. Large would be a good size for me?
Thanks in advance.

Has anyone else experienced delays with their Torque EX bikes?
I ordered the bike in mid November 2012, with an expected delivery date of first week in December. After waiting until the 7th of December, I sent them a mail to see where my bike was. They replied that it was now going to be the 17th December..... So on the 20th I contact them again, asking when the bike is likely to arrive.
Then I get a reply saying that it will be deliverd week 3 of 2013.
They have sent me a neck warmer to make up for the inconviniernce.
Does anyone else have a similar experience?
Delays are sometimes unavoidable but it would be good customer service for them to inform me rather than wait for me to contact them...0 -
Mine took 5 days to arrive!!
The packaging is awesome to be honest!0 -
Can you please tell me your height and the size you have? i am 1.94m 6.4inch and i will buy a Large one. do you think it will fit?0

Who is that aimed at?
I'm the same height and have a Large AL+. There are other measurements to consider other than height though, inside leg, reach etc.
I'm pretty sure you can customise thing such as the stem length and bar width if you require something other than those which come as standard.0 -

I ended up cancelling my order. I had the same problem, I had to contact them to find out when my bike would arrive. They gave me 3 differnt delivery dates so I told them to stick it. Personally Iam glad I did this after reading quite a few horror stories on various sites.0 -

Think you have just been unlucky TBH. This is my second order from Canyon I have a hardtail as well from them. Both arrived when they said they would. Three mates all have Canyons and all have had excellent service from them. Between us we have 7 Canyons in total and have no issues at all other than normal wear and tear that you would get with any bike you buy!0 -

Not sure what the problem has been, I've had exactly the same as you, even down to the little neck warmer buff thing. But like you it's been me chasing and not being told by them off their own backs. It seems, from what i have read that the problem is only limited to those who have bought a torque ex.
I've been in no rush for the bike so I'm "happy" to wait for it to turn up. Figured by the time I cancelled and got my money back it would probably be due for delivery. Only got 1 week to wait. Quite excited now.0 -
