    Hello,

I decided to purchase Trek Remedy 9 2013 however I can't find it in Germany till February!

So now I'm really keen on Canyon Strive AL 9.0 Race
    It's unbelievable package IMO

am i missing something here? is this really reliable and convenient bike?
please advise me and tell me the negative sides? if there are any indeed...
your in germany and your asking an english forum about a german bike :?:
you should be able to find out more about it than any of us here, you could even go to the showroom in koblenz and test ride one

Ah it looks weird you're right, but I'm not in Germany can't speak German though :)
I'll be buying a bike just from Germany
that really isn't making a lot of sense ?

Has anybody used these guys before:

    http://derailleurhanger.com/dh316.php

Had a little mishap on Saturday with my chain and the mech hanger went. I had a spare one, but don't want really pay another £20 for a spare and was thinking to use those guys above. Also can you confirm that it is the right hanger for a Nerve AM 7.0. THanks

Our third Canyon is on it's way, a new one for my OH, her second, it's in Frankfurt at the moment, expected delivery is Tuesday. Everything progressing faultlessly so far.

Re hangers, I use Pilo, nice colours as well, http://www.pilo.co.il

The Canyon ones are pretty weak.

Thanks, I have got a Pilo on now, but I need a spare (or 2!), the one I was pointing to are coming from the States, total costs for 2 is around $45 (which is about £29). Don't know if they are stronger than the Canyon ones but for the price I was ready to take a risk.
    Thanks

Don't know about them. After we got through 3 Canyon hangers in 2 months we've been using Pilo ones for a year with no probs so even if they're not the cheapest we'll be sticking with them.

I've got a 2012 Strive ES 8.0 and for the money the spec is amazing. Having now seen the 2013 bikes the only thing I'm jealous of is the stealth post without the annoying cable and 25mm more travel. However, I'm very glad I've got the Fox 36 as they are so much smoother on the trail than 32 and the 34 is only 15QR. The only selling point of 34 over 36 is weight as they say in the blurb, but guess what on a like for like model the 36 is only about 80g heavier, whereas the 34 is a chunk heavier than a 32. If you can feel 80g then hats off but for me it's a no brainer...

  • Has there been any tests of any of the other 2013 models yet? The Nerve AL 29 is especially exciting, of course.

Just got it, like you say very positive, which makes me happy to know im looking at the right bikes !! lol

Does make me wonder what the carbon version is like though in comparison, never had a carbon frame myself, but Im guessing lighter, more responsive etc I see the geo is the same, does carbon frames ride alot different that ally?

Just a comment, I completely disagree with those that say you can pedal a Torque. I have a 2012 Torque 6, and it's great, a fantastic DH rig.

It's a complete pig on the flat, worse on the up. Do people that think it's okay ever ride anything else?? :0)

  • Looking for some feedback regarding sizing, according to the PPS on the site I will require a medium. Iam 6'1 with a 33 inseem. Now my last few bikes have been large, my current bike measures up right in between a medium and large canyon on all measurements. Just wondering how people find the cockpit (cramped/stretched?)
  • Im around 6, 6`1 and have a medium strive. Find it perfect. Think a large would have been too much. Think the site recommended a large.

  • cheers for the reply.....iam looking at getting the Torque Ex.With my current bike sitting right in between the med and large iam really in a dilema.lol......my current bike is a perfect fit for me.lol.
  • £800 difference between the Nerve 9.0 SL and the 8.0...

My head says get the 8.0 but it must just be the tart in me wanting the 9.0 SL. Am I missing something or does the spec difference not warrant the price difference?? How much is the Kashima coating worth?

    Hello BTW - 1st post :)

Has anyone gone for the 2013 nerve? I'm currently trying to decided between the Nerve AL 7.0 and Nerve AL + 6.0.

Wanted a camber expert but you just can't beat the vfm of the canyons!

Posted a similar question on the Workshop forum, but then I thought that could be a better place for it. My brake pads need replacing on my Nerve AM 7.0, could anyone confirm that the brakes are MT2 (the reference on the brake are QM-7 PM6-203 [Front]; QM6 MP6-180 [Back].
And also where do you order your pads from, I was thinking to get them from Superstars (sintered ones)

    Thanks

They are Mt2. The numbers you are reading are off your brake adapters though, not your actual calipers.

I will, I only had the bike for about 4 weeks (second hand). I thought that the brakes were a bit weak to start with, but on Saturday's ride I had hardly any brakes at all (made it interesting though).

Pads have arrived. Old ones were completely dead. Posted a question on the Workshop forum, as now I can hear/see little bubble of brake fluid coming out from under the lever.
