Why would mountain bikers beat roadies in a distance travelled competition? What are you smoking?
  • Someone do me a favour and see if you can still see the challenge please. I've just set it to private.

Yes, I can still see the challenge and I have a question:

Which one of you freaks is Con Corde?

And, looks like Jeff's getting some miles in, back down to 4th. :(
  • Well, as it's now a private challenge, I can boot him out and he'll not be able to re-join

I believe Con Corde is [/b]Concorde (makes sense to me anyway), one of the noobs. :P

So I'm with Yeehaa, execute the fecker.

    Nothing like being friendly hey.

I bike both road and mountain biking, just not a lot of mountains (actually anything other than flat land) in most of The Netherlands.

So sorry guys. Didn't realise it was only for a limited set of the forum.

    Won't join again.

So the "CRUDCATCHER" in the title didn't give it away? As opposed to say, ""bikeradar forum"?

Perhaps, but then there's this bit in the OP:
All cycling will be counted (MTB, Road, Commuting etc)
Can't really blame anyone for thinking road was OK, but it's nothing important and not worth getting worked up over.

No sweat, just a mistake on my part.

THAT sentence there encases in a nutshell what the Crudcatcher mentality is, and how some people don't get it.

I get things fine and like to lout around too. Would love to spend more time in MB area and the Crudcatcher. Unfortunately the biggest climb I have around me is the stairs in the house and the bike doesn't go too well either up or down them... :D

Just a simple mistake based on the original posting. Nothing more.

Sounds like you need a full suss, with an efficient pedalling action then. You've come to the right place.

It was all in the spirit of the Crucatcher, I didn't really mean it in an offensive way ;) You could have at least, as an outsider, posted in this thread just to say you had joined up etc. I think we just got rattled because you where beating us all by so much! ha.

I couldn't give a toss about not winning, I knew I was never in the running anyway. But i was annoyed at a non-cruddite taking part without so much as a "hi".

I don't know but after yesterdays ride I've started to move up the board. Shame I won't get out today.

I think a bit of face time in the CC should be required before entry.

And once you've finished with that you can join the challenge.

I feel like a slight cheat because lots of my miles are on road, but they're mostly commuting, I even took my road bike off road yesterday, so it's not all bad!

Even with HONC (63 miles), I'm probably less than 100 miles of my total off road. Most of mine are my commute, which although on the road, sometimes feels like it's on a dirt track as the roads are cut up quite badly.

Not sure what mileage I'm going to get on the weekend though as somethings come up.

If it was a competition for distance driven to ride I'd be well in with a shout, this weekend 600 miles driving for 25 miles at Dalby!
