  • It's not settings on the phone (at least, the version on my nokia mobile isn't) it's the settings in the endomondo app itself.

From the sounds of what Yeehaa just said, it's slightly different on each platform.

Yeah I was looking at the app, should of made that clearer, but still no options for online tracking or anything similar.

The "online tracking" option is in endomondo phone app, not on the phone itself's settings.

4 days off the bike has left me 100 miles behind Shayne. Not going to get those mile back easily... :(

My bike has been left at home while I'm back at uni for the next month, so next months challenge has had to be declined :(

I'd go out and do another 20km just to beat you, but I really cba. This last week has ruined my average for the month.

A comfortable 3rd! Happy with that, plenty of racing this month with associated periods of not riding, and nice weather has meant lots of mountain biking, so not so many miles!

Doubt I'm gonna hold 9th but would be happy to finish at 10th or higher. Had a cracking ride yesterday across Ditchling Beacon and Devil's Dyke, glorious weather, new pb top speed and hardly anyone about it was awesome.
May try an squeeze a few more miles in this weekend.

Bugger. Thought I had till midnight on Monday to get to my 700 mile target for the month. Now realise I've got to do another 140 miles before midnight on Saturday!

Not sure if I'm going to hit it. And next month I've really got to focus on my speed and climbing as they've tailed off a bit whilst I've been just putting in the miles.
  • Back up to 5th.

Considering places 1, 2 and 4 are more roadie than MTBer ( ), and 3 is a racing whippet, I'm pretty happy with that. Just need to keep hold of 5th now.

One thing I have noticed this month is a marked improvement in overall fitness, which is what it's all about (for me) anyay, so I'm very happy.

Just a reminder that May's challenge starts on Sunday.

    Follow the link to join

It's a restricted challenge, so you'll need to request an invite then post on here or PM me (just so I know who "John Smith" is and can confirm your invite).

Remember, it's just a bit of fun, for internets points and bragging rights. This month distances range from over 1,000km (well done Shayne) to 0km (well done Keith  )

I'm also considering starting a challenge for a full 12 months if anyone would be interested in that.

May be an idea to open it up for "all miles" and then do a unnofficial sort into catagories, mtb, road, walking ect. Just a thought.
A feather is kinky, a whole chicken is just perverse.
  • Do you know how to do that? I wasn't aware it was possible, I thought if you specify all sports, it just records total distance for all sports.

Thanks for starting this, CWNT, it's been a fun way to get over the drudgery of riding for fitness.
I look forward to next month's.

That's exactly why I wanted to do it too. I know I need to get out on the bike more, but sometimes lack the motivation

The ride tonight for example. Fairly flat, uneventful 20mile run down the old disused train tracks and back. I'd normally have found it dead boring, but the challenge seems to give it a bit more purpose.

I'm already plotting my strategy for next month

    @ Mike - Ride mo-fo ride!

    This, definitely this. :D

Probably get another 40-50 miles tomorrow, but not going to get anywhere near Shayne's total. I've had just too much on over the past couple of weeks.

It's not over yet. I'm hoping to jump up a fair few places tomorrow :P
If i'd turned the damn thing on yesterday, I'd be up to 16th place by now

Matt, when I click the link you posted, I just get Access Denied. Can you invite me to it?

0km (well done Keith  )
    haha!
  • Sorry, just a quick update.

Looks like as I set the May challenge to Invite only, you have to be on my "friends" list for it to work.

Anyone interested should add me (Matt Beastall) as a friend. I'll send an invite through for this challenge, and also add you into Team Crudcatcher for auto-invites to future challenges.

Keith, if you go back through your rides for April, you can actually edit them and change them to Cycling, sport. They'll automatically get added to your total.

Finally, it looks like Mike is currnently sneaking in one last ride. From the looks of it it's going to knock me back down to 6th.

    Mike you absolute barsteward!

Haha, roll on next month's challenge!

Just for a quick heads up, I'm planning a 70KM route tomorrow
All seriousness though, thanks for doing this, has added a real sense of competitivness to riding on my own, it's awesome.

Well, I crawled up a few places today  A little bit of dignity regained.

I'm looking forward to next months challenge. I'm goin to get the commuter rebuilt up as soon as possible now. It'll be an uber-gnar commuter, able to go off road whenever I want, taking it's paniers with it

Great ending to a great challenge. Shayne has shamed us ALL, and 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th were all really close.
    Good stuff! :D

Out of curiosity, I used a different GPS tracking app for today's ride. It seems to follow my route more accurately than Endomondo, but it doesn't keep a maximum speed, or approximation of calories when imported into Endomondo.

My Endomondo is superb on my iPhone, follows the route exactly, tracks it to the meter at least. Just the damn battery doesn't last long enough!

That's curious. I don't think I've ever seen a GPS logger that saves position every meter.
  • Mine seems to have "moments". Sometimes it'll follow my path really well, other times it does seem to be out a little.

The only one I've got to compare mine to is Nokia Sports Tracker, which I'm not really a fan of.

Nah, I mean the route it tracks is accurate to the meter, sorry didn't explain it very well. What I meant was when I get home to check how slow I went, it gets it pretty much spot on.
