Indeed.
However, Gazetta, who are supposed to be more informed than us, is sugegsting otherwise.
So untill we get confirmation, we can discuss on only what we are told - which is that it is doping related.
Even pros are weighing in on the argument, and they're more likely to know that we are too.0 -

Wouldn't the twittering, anti-doping warriors amongst the peloton be just as unfamiliar about such DIY clandestine practices?
For once, I find myself in agreement with Moray.
There seems to be a general stampede to verbally crucify Ricco based upon the allegations of one man in newspaper reports.
In the absence of a positive test, I'm inclined to say: SSDR. :P"Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
I read on one website that RR denies the story

OK Ricco is a bit of a c*ck but one mans word seems to be going a helluva long way here, don't know if you can remember the fury and child abuse allegations unleashed at his girlfriend last year............and we all know how that one turned out. Lets wait and see what transpires before ducking him in the Tiber.Gasping - but somehow still alive !0 -

That's a good article. People need to remember the sympathy they felt for Landis when they finished reading the Kimmage article last week.
Ricco chose to dope, but it didn't happen in isolation.0 -

Speak for yourself I have never felt any sympathy for Landis at any time, i dont see the need to change that view just because he choose to target a certain individual. He was lying cheating fraudster 5 years ago and he is a lying cheating fraudster now.Gasping - but somehow still alive !0 -
anyone noticed we haven't heard from Pat and the UCI yet. Surely a story like this is the sort of thing they should be looking into0

He needs banning for life, for his own safety if nothing else.Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.0

So what if this is not doping related then ? so just ban him for life anyway for being a tool !Gasping - but somehow still alive !0 -
Watching the way the sentiments expressed in this thread have turned around is an object lesson in human behaviour.0

He's changed his story though, so either he was lying then and is now telling the truth, or he is lying now and was telling the truth then, surely?0 -

Who is this tweeter? I need to change my opinion of him, or create an opinion, or reinforce one. A comment from one lacking in compassion and intelligence.Contador is the Greatest0

Apologies if this has been already posted:

In short: Police didn't find any evidence at Ricco's house, related to blood doping or transfusions.
This is where I dislike the media. So, so desperate to post something that the facts are always changing. And the opinions of various commentators etc; wait until there is some concrete info before casting aspersions.Contador is the Greatest0 -

I was speaking for anyone who has a) read the Kimmage piece in its entirety and b) has a shred of compassion.
andyp has already pointed out that the second part of your reply doesn't make any sense.0 -

I actually find myself agreeing with you on this. I suspect it will turn out to be true - but am still holding back on my judgement until I find out for 'certain'. As certain as one can be with these things.....0 -
Can't help but feel that that there is a lot of misplaced anger here, both from certain pros and from certain forumites...
IF guilty of attempting to carry out a transfuision on himself, then Ricco deserves pity he's obviously slightly unhinged. It seems his only real crime, from the professional peleton's POV is being a bit of a d!ckhead...compare the twittersphere's reaction to the latest Ricco case to that for the Contador case. The only differences are that Contador has been found guilty, whereas thusfar the evidence for Ricco's guilt is dubious at best! You live and learn. At any rate, you live0 -
I don't like Ricco at all, but seeing how people and the cycling world have slammed him and gloating on this, even when there's no "official" news yet, this really makes me sick.
Scary, hello witch hunt.0 -
I liked the last bit of this article
http://www.cyclesportmag.com/news-and-c ... -bit-rich/Is it okay for riders to keep schtum about the likes of Contador, Valverde, Di Luca and Rasmussen (the list goes on) because they were only banned once? Because they didn’t appear to have odious personalities and clung to implausible defences? A cheat is a cheat, whether he has big, brown doe-eyes or conducts himself with shameless arrogance.
Ricco belongs to that latter category. He might be a fool, a liar and a cheat too. Hell, he comes off as a nasty piece of work personality-wise as well.
However, he should not be the scapegoat for cycling’s collective woes or a target for mass hysteria, especially while facts are hazy and he recovers from liver failure in an Italian hospital.
Twitter, and internet comment in general, is geared towards knee-jerk reaction. But I hope that, as the flames flicker out twenty-four hours after the initial inferno, more people will stop, think and realise that Ricco is not the enemy.
Cheats as a whole are, and the riders needs to rally as a whole against them – in person.0 -

Got to agree with you on the media. They sometimes will say anything to sell copy or air time.0
