I was watching the ITV4 highlights of the tour programme earlier and I think Cav said something like 'I hope I can do it (win the green jersey or something) with the same guys".

That sounds like Cav is considering his options, or preparing the ground before he leaves, or trying to negotiate a better contract.

But did I just mishear that? Wasn't paying that much attention.

He didn't make it sound like he was leaving to me. In my head it sounded like some of his leadout train are wanted by other teams and he wants them all at Columbia. I don't think it sounded like he wanted to go anywhere

Ah, I didn't hear the question. That makes sense. Couldn't really see him going elsewhere - especially not Sky given their GC 'ambitions'.

I am disappointed to read that Visconti is staying with ISD–Neri–Giambenini. Early on in this thread it said he was going to Liquigas.

Me too. A really exciting strong rider. A great all-rounder in the Chavannel mould, maybe better in the hills. Would love to see him on a ProTour strong team.

Some sectors of the media, where there is a perception that Contador is somehow unpopular in the peloton, will doubtless interpret Fuglsang’s comments as a slight on the Tour champion. It is more likely however that the Dane is simply dropping as strong a hint as possible that he will be leaving Bjarne Riis’ team.

“It would be a strange situation,” he added, “riding for Fränk and Andy one year and then riding for Contador the next. It would be strange to be riding against my friends.”
