That is a seriously cool ride Monsieur.Fromage.
And light!Happy trails.0 -
Just throwing BOTY up again, just in case you had all forgotten just how awesome tihis is...0
-
oh and also to pull njee20 out of his cage to put a pooper on everything...0
-
It's a nice bike, it's just not sub-19lbs...0

Predictable as ever - and yes it is sub 19 lbs. Ill state that AGAIN!
I do await your riposte when you come back from singletrackworld... :P
Must be my scales... :roll:0 -
We get it. Your bike is the lightest there is.
Well for a start it's heavier than this one I suspect. Although it's close. There's nothing particularly light on yours! Nice as it is.
I should've put a smiley, I was simply rising to the bait you provided. I don't doubt you've weighed it at 18lbs 11 or whatever, as I've said previously. And as I've also said previously, I'd be interested to weigh my bike on your scales!0 -
I would love to see you weight your bike on his scales, and see them tip over to 24lbs0
-
As would I, then I'd take the lead out and weigh it again ;-)0
-
seriously njee20, why don't you give it a rest? This whole dick swinging lightweight thing just shows you have a rather large chip on your shoulder. It seems as though you refuse to believe anyone's claimed weights for their bike, and most of them REALLY don't care about it as much as you do.0
-
I made (another) tongue in cheek comment, I'm not the one with a 7 page thread on my bike! In fact I hardly mention what I ride, like I said, it's probably heavier than this Marin
Of course I beleive what some bikes weigh, GreyGoose's Flash seems plausible, and I'm very happy to say this is a nice bike. Anyway, I didn't resurrect the thread!0 -
What bike do you ride?0
-
Me? Got a Top Fuel 9.9 at the moment. This one:

Oh god, my eyes.
Me no likey at all, sorry. It looks bent!0 -
I agree, I didn't buy it because it looked nice though!0
-
Ah, the old "forced to buy it at gunpoint" thing?
I understand man. Sorry. I know it's a horrific experience.0 -
It looked better than the S-Works Epic which was the other alternative, and after 3 of those I fancied a change for this season! Rides very nicely!0
-
Meh, I thought it did, wasn't keen on the red, as I said though, that wasn't why I got it! Was bored of Epics anyway, and it's hard to see what it looks like when you're riding it/when it's covered in crap!
Not sure what to get next season, I'll be sure to check everyone here thinks it suitably 'pretty'.0 -
I approve of the wheels and the saddle0 -
Two of the bits I changed from stock, so I do have some taste :-)0
-
just for comparison this bike is stated as being 19 .7lbs and has much lighter bits than the marin especially the frame, wheels, drive train and brakes http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/p ... tail-27456Viner Salviati

Why are we hijacking the original thred ?? The Marin is lush by the way !!!0
-
not hijacking. it is a beautiful bike and it scores highly on the bling scale (which is good) but theres lots of argument over the stated weight.Viner Salviati

I'd like it pointed out that I didn't raise the 'issue' this time though :-)
Edit: they miss a few details out on Dave Wiens bike, notably the Scrub RaceDay rotors (50g) and the Schmolke TLO seatpost (c90g).0 -

There is no argument over the weight ?
Cheesey weighed the bike and then posted the weight on this thread.
Some people with fark all better to do than pick holes in other peoples work have taken exception to this,
and decided to knock his efforts and to all intents and purposes, publicly call him a liar.
If you have nothing else better to do than bitch about someone's pride and joy,
I suggest you jog the fark on and stop spoiling the guys thread.0 -
No one's called him a liar, least of all me, I merely suggested that his scales weren't accurate, but then it's just as possible those that weighed Dave Wiens bike over weighed it. I've said several times that it's a nice bike, just not a particularly light one!
But are we really going to have this argument again!?0 -
What's all the hang up about weight ??? take Jessica Simpson..her weight fluctuates all the time....but I would knob her fat or thin..0
