Of course. Just remember not to expect to get around the route in record time and you'll be fine :o)

I'm told the climb out of the Forest up towards the Cat and Fiddle is a tough one
  • Depending on the route, there are some great downhills as well as a few tough up hills.

I may be up for this if I'm welcome?

I live locally and am meant to be going to Wales biking for the weekend, however, it's now looking unlikely - friend probably can't make it!

Any idea on route yet? There are some brilliant descents in Macc forest!

Is there an entrance exam or qualifying stage to join "Slow Rides for Unfit People". I would like to meet up for the Macc ride and I'll still be buzzing from a Welsh excursion this weekend. I live in north notts if anybody is intersted in car sharing? Been a couple of years since i've been to that neck of the woods.

Hmmmm, let's see. A qualifying stage...... now there's an idea.

To give you some prespective, we took 4.5hrs to get around Dalby Red last Summer (although we did stop for a picnic), we did 23ish miles in the Peaks last month in 5 hours and the same route took us 6 hours last year. There are some slow riders (me included) and some not so slow riders but the ones at the front know to play nicely and wait for the ones at the back periodically.

The qualifying exam is this. If you can navigate to the notified starting point and be ready to ride by the start time, you're in. Just don't underestimate the 'slow' and 'unfit' in the title and you'll be ok.

Ha! That one's a doddle compared to the climb up from The Leather Smithy through the forest to the begining of Charity Lane.

That was some "off" you had, that was one fast steep descent - and you still soldiered on to the end, respect :)

Thanks for a great day, roll on the next
You only get one shot .........so make it a double !

We've rode around there a few times and in Macc Forrest itself the only good stuff we found was Charity Lane.
We now have a loop starting from the Cat&Fiddle taking in Danebower Hollow,Three Shires Head(twice) and Cumberland Brook.Only about 18 miles but takes in three counties and some classic stuff 8)
  • I have decided i am Joseph and his technicolour dreamcoat as my body turns into all the colours imaginable, my hip is still giving me alot of gip.

Do the photos that were taken on the day usually get posted?
