  • Couldn't be at Lee Quarry today - I was at the forest sell-off protest at Grizedale. Hope you all had a good one.

Great ride at Lee Quarry yesterday. Huge thanks to Ranger Graham for tagging along and showing us around. Can recommend the looooong uphill to Cragg Quarry and the red loop there too.

    right, onto the next one.......

    Thread title change.....

For the one year anniversary of our first group ride, Saturday 26th February will see the Slow Riders return to where it all started, Ladybower and the surrounding Peak District.

Starting out from Ladybower Reservoir, this ride worked out at about 23 miles last time but we missed out the last climb up to Crookhill Farm and down Hagg Side because everyone was knackered!!!!

Meeting on the Upper level of the car park at the Ladybower Visitor's Centre in time for a 10am start. It's up to you if you pay to use the car park or use the free lay-by further up the road and ride down to the start.

Be warned, there WILL be walking!!!!!

  • Sorry I never went to LQ. Got an offer off a friend to go and ride around Hayfield.

I presume the ladybower will be a full dayer? I'll see if I can get a pass out of the missus as she'll need to look after the kids.
Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!

I've not been out since Lee Quarry either.

I did fit my boy's new bike seat onto the Hardtail this morning tho. Got him a great little helmet too:

still some rain forecast in the days leading up to to the Peaks ride next weekend, but it will be what it will be. As long as it's not tipping it down on the day I'm not bothered :)

I don't think so Chris, certainly not on a regular basis anyway. Most of us are 'ooop North.

Another cracking day out with the Slow Riders on Saturday, even in the VERY deep mud on the permissive bridleway up the North side of Win Hill, which is currently being used as vehicle access for logging.

Huge thanks go to all of my Slow Riding friends who sprung a big surprise on me . Thanks everyone, sorry they didn't fit :(

I am looking for suggestions for our next group outing on Sunday 27th March. I have put Woburn Sands up for consideration but am open to other ideas. Just remember that it needs to be somewhere that holds up well in the wet!!!! Get your suggestions in quickly as I want to announce where we're going by the end of this week.

Whinlatter would fit the bill and I don't think you have been there yet.And you could have an overnight in Keswick.

Hopefully I can meet up with you all again as my shift pattern hasn't coincided for umpteen rides but it does for the 27th/3
I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

Our next group outing will be on Sunday 27th March and will be our first visit to Macclesfield Forest.

I'm still working on the exact route but it's looking like being in the region of 20 miles with a bit of tarmac in there somewhere.

Usual meeting time of 9.30 for a prompt 10am start. If you think there is a chance that you might be late getting there please make sure you have someone's contact number. PM me if that someone is me.
