Think we're going to do a ride around Hayfield or possibly Gradbach, depends on the weather and my strained hamstring!

Either an early Saturday morning trip to Cannock or the Ridgeway or maybe both...but not on the same day!

Hmmm, numerous tech forums haven't been able to fix it yet!!!!

Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop with a dark screen. Tried it with a new inverter, tried it with a new screen and inverter, tried it with new screen, new inverter and new flex cable and it's still a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a dark screen.

Shortly before this problem arose it started getting hot at the top of the keyboard because the DC input jack needs replacing. Not sure if this is related.

Suggestions before I bin it and buy a new one would be much appreciated....

Quality Roo. My cousin is a Microsoft Certified Tech Geek and that's still the first thing they suggest!!!! It worked on my dishwasher yesterday but alas my laptop is being a little less co-operative.

    ''

Sounds to me like the video card has overheated...they don't like extreme heat, i would suggest trying another video card, i know they aren't cheap especially if it's something like a NVIDIA GEFORCE 9200M....but if it's an expensive laptop then this would still be a cheaper alternative to buying a new one.

Nice idea Steve, I have been told that it sn't the video card tho because connecting the laptop to an external monitor works perfectly.

There is now an event on the Facebook page where people can register their interest in a possible night ride taking in the Red graded Follow The Dog route at Cannock Chase in Mid November.

All of the power settings and display profiles are as they should be and the backlight is built into the LCD panel which I have already replaced.

I can't wait , it's been over a month since I was last on my bike. The wetter and windier the better though , makes it more of an adventure !
