Chain off and degreased, new freewheel and chainwheel cleaned apart from the few teeth behind the crank arm on Trixie. Refit and lube after the kettle boils.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

The rocking I could feel when the front brake was applied wasn't movement caused by having discs, it was the headset needing a fettle, 5 mins with the allen keys at the roadside and all sorted. I even managed to keep the stem pointing the same way as the front wheel.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

A friend has just bought a pair of wheels of Amazon with Claris hubs for £70 delivered so it was down to me to do the dirty work and replace the knackered wheels on his bike. He wanted the dork disc on his new wheels but with the stop screws tweeked there is no need for it.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Charge Plug stripped of components ready for a good clean & some shiney bits bout time!
Realised i've lost the bottom bung from my Airace Fit Tele R pump & the new headset cups appear too long for the frame's slight taper, could be just visual trickery but the original cups inserted depth was a lot shorter hoping there isn't a slight taper as the outer of the headset looks chamfered to allow the cups :?0 -

Good move. With the Campag chainset on there was a danger of folk thinking you aren't a dentist
As a matter of interest, is there any point to the change to Rotor aside from giving the bike more of a gangsta bling look?Faster than a tent.......0 -
Took some sand paper to the contact points on my Micro-Drive rear light.

Yes the rotor is a compact so I can eventually take this bike to the mountains.
Also the praxis is reportedly meant to shift better than rotor rings so much like campag I suspect.
CRC informed me via email that my warranty replacement look keo blade pedals have been despatched, so who knows this might be the weekend I actually ride it in this setup.Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

So that you can enjoy the slap of your brake cable against your top tube?

Yet another hour trying to clean the bb threads of the ss frame..
Think i'll have to get it to the lbs  decided it does need the thread chasing!
I'd do the DIY route but the price of these tools is silly for the number of times i'll use one0 -
Fitted new fork to the Soloist and finally got it cabled up. Not happy with the rear brake routing so I'm going to re-do that tomorrow. Will hopefully get it indexed tomorrow as well. Not sure about that though, I remember indexing Shimano as being part voodoo and part blind luck.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

If you've got a Dremel and an old pair of BB cups then you can make an el-cheapo one-time thread chaser by whacking a deep groove across the threads.- - - - - - - - - -

They'll be no donuts on my Cervelo good god man think of the extra weight :shock:Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.

After last nights tyre wall failure I swapped my summer-autumn commuting wheelset for my autumn-winter set
and would you know it the winter set are actually 9g per wheel lighter

Put new batteries in the Fybreflares on the forks and in remounting them put the rubber strap round one of the spokes and only realised when I wheeled the bike forward as I left for work, luckily I had a spare strap.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

Re-cabled the Equilibrium, nice new bar tape the lot. Also sent time working out why the CR1 still doesn't feel as good. Took photos of both bikes from the same position, and used some angle and distance measuring software on the mac to find that the saddle was a shade too high, and a touch too far back.0

Final tweaks and adjustments to the Scott Foil HMX - all seems to be very good. Was going to change the brake pads on the front disc of the focus, BR505 calipers are made of cheese and the fitting for the pads just sheered off in my hand (this also happened to the rear).
BB7 ordered as a replacement."If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."

I find that odd. I find it very easy - are you sure you're not trying to adjust out a problem (like a worn cassette or sticking cable)?
One of the joys of Di2 (apart from not needing adjusting once it's set) is that you can index on the fly using the shifters.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

Everything is brand new. Need to double check the hanger ain't bent, but I don't think it is.
The process is exactly the same as it is for SRAM but I tend to find Shimano is much less 'linear' in it's response to adjustments; nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, miles too far, nothing, nothing.......Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

It must be "linear" else the shifters wouldn't work. And, certainly, the adjuster screw thread is linear. Does suggest to me that something isn't right in the system - sounds like something is sticky somewhere.
