Forcing you out of your comfort zone should narrow the field in the stats WAR!

May I suggest meeting at the coffee shop. If there's a big group then we'll soon run out of space at the gate, the coffee shop area affords far more room.

      Editted. Done.

Oh and thank you for offering to lead the ride. If you had SPDsl's I'd let you have a sprint on the Kharma.

      • I should be ok for the 9th, 16th nope, can't do that day.

as to the 30th I'll be happy to lead a group out to windsor and back, start from the roehampton gate cafe, since i can i'll sugest the Bell in hampton since its very local for me and if the weather is nice lovely by thames. they are a bit hit and miss with vegie options as are most pubs to be honest.

if people would rather surrey lanes after tasting them, then i'm more than happy to lead a group that way as well.

any way 10ish roehampton gate cafe sunday 30th.
route is very flat, a few busy roads but nothing that scarey. but i'm quite happy to lead in to the surrey lanes, but only if all wanted too.

Can someone plonk a green arrow on Google Maps where the meeting point (Roehapmton Gate Coffee Shop) is for this weekend's ride and then post the link.

I've not been to Richmond Park before.

I've not been to Richmond Park before.

        lets see if this works...
        http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=tw9&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=58.164117,133.154297&ie=UTF8&ll=51.452543,-0.255464&spn=0.00567,0.016254&t=h&z=17

you can see the car park and the cafe and loos are in that.

Guys - are you all happy with the route for Sunday as detailed below:

9th August Surrey Route(Including optional pub stop @ the Cricketers) 42 miles, 1497 feet

Please note that it ends in Wimbledon Village. If people would rather end in RP then here's the altered route:

          Route - Start/End in RP

          What would folk prefer?

I would like it to end in Wimbledon Village, but then its easier for me to get home that way.

I don't mind where it ends as I'll likely have to bail before then. Basically I need to be back in Croydon by 1pm so about 11:30 I'll start thinking about where's good to peel off and head back.

It should take you no more than 45mins to get back to Croydon. I do Wimbledon to Norbury in about 20mins and then another 10 to A place in Space (comic shop).

I almost had kittens when I thought it went past Newlands Corner but it stops short. The climb up there from Shere breaks the strongest wills, not least because it's a horrible dual carriageway A-road.

Wimbledon will be fine for me, unless you want to end it in North Kent, which would be even better

Do you mean 45 mins from the end of the route?

If so, what time are we expecting to finish? I was thinking we'd probably still be out pootling somewhere around the three-quarter mark by the time I had to leave but maybe that's not the case.
