Don't be in such a hurry! This thread has been on the go for 3 months and Da Mighty Chicken has yet to use Da Mighty Screwdriver to attach any of Da Mighty Parts to each other; it's great! Just chill out and enjoy - some things are best not rushed

Changed my mind on the headset, read various reports that showed the Chris King Headsets can damage the steerers on long travel forks, also saved £40

You dont run clipless then?

I will as I promised put up a thread about my charge duster build (also dripping with red hope bits ) but as my frame has been delayed until the end of october it wont be for a while

Have you seen how small these computers are in the flesh? They are tiny little things :shock:

No clipless, tried it on my last decent mtb, couldn't get on with them, although, I know I didnt really give it a proper chance but I just like the whole flats thing, I can bail when I need to then! :shock:

Cant wait to see your build, you got any of the parts yet? If so get the thread started, we all like to see new bits.

I've got everything lol

Its all sitting in a box in the garage waiting for the frame to arrive!

I went for the white brake hoses and red anodised fittings by the way, just couldn't resist, they'll be built onto a set of hope mono minis (these will be the only none new part on the bike but they're in excellent condition) complete with red rotors, red piston caps and red reservoir caps

I'll get my arse into gear and get some pics up soon

Bits left to get:
Saddle
Chainset
Cassette
Forks
Brakes
Wheels

Gonna get the chainset ordered tomorrow, thinking XTR as getting a deal on a new & retail boxed one for £269, unless something else jumps out at me in the next 24hrs?

Then gonna sell the XTR bottom bracket & get the saddle, so that just leaves 4 parts and then its a go for launch, hoo rah!

Would be nice to see a breakdown of costs to see how it compares to off the shelf completed bikes. I might go down this route next time round.

You never know, by the time these are purchased, photographed, posted, discussed and fitted, could be riding the 2010 frame by 2012.....maybe 2013!

Its not going to be as cheap as buying an off the shelf bike but then I get to spec the bike as I want it 8)

lol, no, I sold the Orange grips as I wanted something abit more colourful

I'll have a look for the posts again and PM them over. I also emailed CK and they replied saying that they were aware of the problem but its down to the way the headsets are fitted and without the correct tools etc?

As for the pedals, I was looking at the DMRs but as soon as there is a light breeze the paint flakes off! So I bought these tough and ready DXs 8)

Or maybe you will be to old to ride the bike if it takes any longer to build

All this just to build up a tig'd in Taiwan hardtail :shock:
