yer those new hope hoops mate were going on my road bike but money is very tight at the moment so had to tell them i wnt be getting them now. i am gonna leave the road bike the way it is and spend money finishing my amrin.
And yer mate it rides very diffretn now from before. it has boostd my confidents a hell of a lot0 -

I've just been looking at this on chain reaction. I dont like the look of the shadow mechs...look a bit flimsy to me...
I notice these have no barrel adjuster and therefore need to abe set up on the shifter...a bit fiddly perhaps...0 -
the shadow mechs are actually much stronger and are tucked away so it won't hit rocks. they are also lighter than standard ones.but they are flimsey to adjust when you buy it. in terms of shifting performance it makes no differenceravey1981 wrote:

I've got the XTR shifters and they have the barrel adjusters 8)
CRC will only have the OEM shifter and used ones at that (and yes I do know as they sent me one, promptly returned) Wiggle kinda of pricematched this one for me, sold it for £85 but also allowed me to use the £5 off voucher so £80 all in.
I had the same concerns about the carbon shadow mech so got this, it weights more than I thought it would but in a heavy=well made kinda way Orange 2010 P7 - Custom Build - My New Bikey Poos

Yeah, its gonna be a nice red Chris King Headset, but still not quite sure on the BB, its either a red ceramic Hope or the new red Chris King?
As for the the new Chris King BB injection tool, it sounds like a really neat idea but isn't it about £50-£60? Can you also get them in the UK yet?

Yeah I know, I wasnt best pleased as you can imagine, what made it worse is that CRC were just rude in their emails and couldnt care less, also I had to insure it to post it back due to the value of the mech but CRC would only refund 1st class post! I wont be using them again I can tell you.

they did a revierw on here of the BB mate will se if i can find as for the tool if ya get the BB i am getting the tool so ya wont need one ya can use mine chap. saave couole quid.0 -

Thanks, I'm hoping so, based on the write ups the Hope BBs are supposed to be really good.

Now I'm doing the toss-up in my head as to whether to go for the S or the Pro - head says S, heart says Pro - and then I try and justify with pounds and pence - if you take into account the cyclescheme savings, paying the extra to get the Pro out of my own pocket, makes it only £100 more than the rrp on the S...

He was never the 'only P7 on the Forum' anyway!
Tommyess - the heart and head option on the P7 is an 'S' with the Fox Vanilla fork upgrade. It's what I got and I don't really feel that any of the other Pro bits would have made such a huge difference. It is a terrific fork but do budget £25 for a new spring if you aren't of average weight. You'd have to spend similar on a fork pump for the standard fork anyway.
Da Mighty Chicken - if you ever finish the bike, let me know how you get on with that Hope BB. My BB is wobbling a bit so I suppose it needs replacing and the Hope would be my choice (what was wrong with the ceramic bearing version?) assuming they can be had in non-bling black; I'm not compromising the stealth functionality of my bike for anyoneFaster than a tent.......0
