Yeah, forks are the most expensive part, then the frame & then the wheels, so the last part will take a bit longer than normal

Yeah, I really cant wait to put this puppy together, I'm having to hide all the parts so they dont just look at me and taunt me all the time

What do you guys reckon, white ZTR Flows or Arch rims, black spokes and red Hope Pro 2 hubs? Have changed my tyres to the same Panaracer Fire XC Pros but in black so I'd make the centre of the wheel the main focus. Let me know your feedback please chaps

Like this really, but with Flows or Archs and with black or silver brass nipples not the red alu ones in the pic.

3rd ones down, I love the Spanks, but they're bright green and won't go with my new colour scheme.

Not had the frame faced yet, will get that done when the rest of the bikes ready to be built. Strangely enough, Orange told me that the steel frames don't need facing but I haven't looked into that yet so I'm not sure?

Yeah saw those, nice but extremely light spokes and being a heavy weight, too light for me

really? i would imagine steel would need facing the same as alu.... especially if it's been painted.

Apparently On-One's steel frames don't need facing either - but i still had mine done. For £15, It's not worth the risk.

Basically you skim the outer surfaces of the bb tube and the headtube so that the headset and bb cups sit perfectly parallel to each other. It prevents premature bearing wear and other mechanical gremlins.

Got me some nice red bar bungs, I was originally going to have the hope ones but I thought these looked better




Changed my grips again, but I'm finally happy with the colour and style

Changed the colour of my tyres, still keeping the Fire XC Pros though, thought the red tyres with all the other red in the build would look too much.





Going to order some wheels soon, either this weekend or in a couple of weeks, depending which wheels I want to go for (read:cost)

Yep, depending on what wheels I decide on, I could order some this weekend, otherwise it'll be in about 2 weeks if I want the more expensive option?

Then just the forks left, finally! (oh and maybe some white gear outers)

Thats what I keep telling myself

Cassette was from Wiggle when they had the £20 off voucher deal and then almost £6 back via cashback (see sig) so cheaper than the oem CRC ones and cheapest I could find anywhere

Got the XTR chainset for about the same or less than the cost of the RF Deus and preferred the look of the XTR, it also matched the rest of the setup :P
