Funny you should say that, I can get red bore caps which I may just get soon and maybe red res caps when Hope release them soon  :D
  • The reservoir caps are already available, I've got some!

    Hey ed,

Where did you get yours from? Are they the red res caps? How much were they?

I emailed Hope a few weeks back and they said that they are looking to sell these coloured caps but they hadn't decided to release them yet? There was another user on here that had blue ones on a Kona Stinky IIRC, so I'm a little confused :?

    Thanks
  • i work in a bike shop, so i just rang them up when placing an order for other stuff and asked for them, along with red bore caps. try going into a shop and get them to ring. when i got mine they definitely had every colour available.

i've also heard that they are/will be doing reach and bpc adjuster knobs in the other colours as well, although i haven't asked them directly about it.

It's just dawned on me - you work in a bike shop, borrow a few bits from the stock every week, take them home and photograph them, then post them on here, pretending your building a bike. Then hurry them back to the shop before the manager/owner has had time to notice the stock missing.

I know I'm right - why no pictures of stuff fitted eg. bottom bracket to frame, crankset, front and rear mechs ( I can't spell deralieurs ) stem to h/bars, h/bars to grips - I could go on.
When I'm building, I fit parts as they come - I can't wait to get them on my bikes.

I'm afraid unless you post all your pictures of your so called parts again! WITH THE RECIEPTS BESIDE THEM! then I have no option other than to expose you as the fraud that you are sir!

:lol::lol: Thanks dude, you gave me and Mrs DMC a right laugh this morning with this

The main reason why I haven't put bits together yet is that I live in a one bed flat (large flat but still) and the frame is lovingly padded and boxed up in a cupboard and the bits neatly put away somewhere else, so if I started the build I'd have to keep the frame out and theres not much room, so I'm gonna wait until I have all the parts then get it set up :D

And I may just take a photo before the build of all the parts together, receipts not guaranteed

    Thanks :D

I haven't totalled the receipts yet but what I can tell you is that if you look at the Orange website and add all the top extras onto the pro build, mines likely to come out at the same price but I have a better drivetrain (XTR vs SLX/XT & Race Face Evolve) & for me better brakes, forks, cassette & much better wheels, mainly because I have been shopping smartly and getting price matches, discounts and stuff.

I'll have a full total once its finished :D
  • Cool, yeah pritty pricey lol, look foward to seeing some pics of it finished!!

weels and forks are one of the most expensive things on this bike though.
hopefully you will not have any problems wuth assembling it
  • What revelations are you going for mate? Some models are available now from what i've seen, but all the XX models aren't released until mid January, which is more than a little annoying as that's what i'm after!

    Lovely build by the way.

    Hi Adam,

    Thanks :D

The Revs that I'm going for are the new '10 Rev Teams with 20mm Maxle, possibly the U-Turns as I need to run them at 140mm for the P7 frame.

I love the idea of the XX hydraulic lockout but the XX lockout needs to clamp to the shifter & brake clamp as it doesn't have one on its own IIRC? And expensive too

That's the reason i want the XX, for the simple remote (yet to see the price), no one seems to know if you can get the clamp separate or if it comes with the brakes or shifters maybe. It seems a bit stupid you can only have it if you buy them and not the fork. The clamp is nothing special and looks like it would work without the shifters and brake lever.

It'll be U-Turn for me too, as being able to adjust the fork travel as you ride seems like a good idea. Strange you can get the black team version now but not the white.

    Da Mighty Chicken

My white and red custom build is now finished. I changed from a charge frame to an on-one as theres a problem with charge frames (there is a delay on them coming into the country)

I know I said i would do a WIP thread but in the end i couldnt be bothered to unpack all the parts to photograph them so i just waited til I got the frame and built it up.

Have a look and see what you think
  • Da Mighty Chicken what weight is your frame?

I'm looking for a new frame and toying with the idea of steel. So far looking at Cotic Soul or Cove handjob but having seen your photos of your frame wondered on the weight?

    Hi Simmo,

I have only done a quick (& probably inaccurate) test by weighing my self on the bathroom scales & then re-weighing my self whilst holding the frame and it told me that the frame weighed about 6.6lbs which seems fairly heavy but it doesn't feel that heavy so I'm unsure how accurate that is.

If I get the chance to weigh it elsewhere then I'll update you on this thread :D
