I spoke to DMC t'other day.

He's had to re-order the forks and is waiting on a new shipment from the suppliers to arrive. Presumably delayed due to volcano based japery.

He's also looking at tyres, so I can only assume we are in the final stages now. A mere matter of days before completion.

You can almost taste the anticipation in the air! You could cut the tension with a knife.

Some bad and good news: The bad is that after I was completely messed about by the Bike Outlet, I got a refund as they didnt have new stock, so I placed an order with TFtuned, and 2 days after Fishers should have had stock and sent them to TFT, they (Fishers) then said they cant get any til the 19th May nooooooooooooo I thought.

I must say at this point that TFTuned are a cool set of guys and know their stuff, so its not them that caused me a problem but the distributor.

However, the light at the end of the tunnel is.......Freeborn Bikes, so far fantastic service, they have stock and gave me a great price, so an order will have to go in next week when paypal put the money back into my account as they dont take paypal.

New tyres will be bought tonight, so will be here before the forks.

And just for bobzero I have some new shiney parts that I haven't mentioned, so will aim to take pics later and post up when done

btw so unlucky about the forks. i would have been well peed off. when i lost a auction by £2 for these really nice forks i was really annoyed

Lol maybe, usually takes me best part of a full day to get it fully assembled and everything totally tweaked and fettled.

Well if the shop are to be believed, then they told me that they'd book me in on a certain day, and it'd all be finished that day, so hopefully by end of next week, start of the following? and yep, I really cant wait now

sounds about right, i can usually build a bike from scratch in a few hours on a normal working day no problem, tbh once the headset and bb are faced and fitted it doesnt take long i find, will loook ace when its done tho 8)

aye, the thing that usually takes me ages is tuning the gears in and getting the forks fitted (steerer tube cutting etc), the rest is pretty simple.

Got some new tyres on the way, some new 2010 Nobby Nics - Snake Skin, EVO, Triple Nano Compound in 2.4"s, cant wait.

Also, all being well and 3rd time and all that jazz I'll have the Rev Teams on order this week too coming from Freeborn bikes

After that, we are all done, yay

id be very careful of that nc-17 10mm thru axle. i got one from crc and the thread holding the lever end sheared off, taking with it an xo rear mech and ruining a hope floating rotor. crc didnt print my product review. swapped it for a superstar one thats been fine.

Where did you get the MOWA bits from? I've only seen them on ebay from Hong Kong.

Got them from a seller on ebay whos in Taiwan, simplicity cycles IIRC, I've had 2 orders now and both have arrived very quickly, and one was at the same time as the volcano thing as well

Depends on the items value but for these items there was nothing to pay extra at all. He also sends them tracked and recorded delivery too

+1 I ordered my bits during the volcano disruption, very good service.

ive ordered a set of mowa red bits inc red disc rotor bolts but whilst waiting ive fitted a pair of rotors with red spiders so the new bolts wont stand out at all so i might have a set of disc bolts up for grabs due to the fact im a d1ck :?

The balloons and cake are on order as we speak

I've had no end of troubles with getting a decent set of forks, but all is now well, all bits ordered, so will have everything I need in a couple of days.

The other delay is I've been looking after mother due to an operation, so not been able to sort it. So will be built soon as possible now!
