A nice 26 miles last night after work.

Regarding the stats, when I click on my name I can't see my ride history which used to be visible - should it still be showing when I click on my name link?
You were claiming 26 miles in 81 seconds, and it didn't like it. I've stuck a bit more validation in to trap silly average speeds - any times that generate an average above 60mph (completely arbitrary) are discarded and replaced with 0, which doesn't generate an avg spd. I dunno. Users eh? Always finding new ways to break it.

Go to the Mini Leagues page, follow the link to Create or Modify..., select that league and tick the box with your name, then hit the Add Selected button and you're in.

Should add a tick box on the main miles logging page so you can highlight if your miles are FG or SS... Cos I wont be riding my SS come the summer time when I am trying to catch you all uP!

You can add a ride type for SS and FG. If everyone who does is consistent I can stick a filter up some time when I I have a bit of time. Easier if I offer a simple FG / SS option to add as a new ride type. Give me 10 minutes or whilst I suss it out.

Does it count as SS if you make a point of riding in the same gear all the time on a geared bike???

Hey CiB - thanks for fixing that. Benno strikes again :D

I'm pleased with that average speed, must have hit a purple patch and also I had some luck with the traffic lights.

Sadly I need to do some stuff around the house this evening, only a 7- 8 miler tonight

Benno - that avg might be way out. I assumed that 81 secs = 1m 21s which should have been 1h 21m. Up to you if you want to keep it.

I've stuck a couple of buttons up that offer FG or SS as ride types. Sometime in the future I'll add some kind of filtering to show these ride types as a separate list, or filtered in some way. For now if you want to distinguish FG SS rides, add them as your ride type and assign your miles to them as appropriate.

But that just becomes a nice arbitrary target for those who happen to be close to it but not at it. Anyone who is doing more than 500 anyway doesn't benefit and anyone whose commute is too short won't get close. Why not 400, or 300 or 600? Best off just chasing your own targets and keeping the spreadsheet simply IMHO.

Because 500 is a nice round number

I'm nowhere near 500, but do think it would be an admirable acheivement to hit that figure every month

  • Hi stat lovers
Have just joined in, and noticed that my contribution immediately brought down the group average by 1 mile. Sorry about that... Anyhow - trying to beat last year's 1255 miles and make the 100 club every month. When the new bike arrives on C2W, the incentive will be that much greater.
    Cheers and keep 'em spinning

That stats league comes into it's own on wet windy heavy traffic London evening pothole / moon crater commute like tonight, it's time we raised an angry mob and stuck Boris in a burning wicker man, I think we have a spare somewhere

Without the stats League I wouldn't have bothered cycling home this evening- fingers freezing inside my wet through gloves, grit in my hair, my eyes, my mouth, wet through to the skin. You can't see the potholes when it's wet like this and I hit one particularly hard coming through Greenwich.

Still - another 17 miles closer to the top. 8)

Go for it, fight against yourself and others close to you, the average is just a number. Good luck in achieving your targets

I only look at ther targets ahead with a cheeky look over the shoulder of course.

Back in the top 10 this morning  but for how long????

I'm knocking at your door CJCP, just a few miles, I might have to start logging my off-road miles as well  There's still a fair way to go to haul in the mighty ITB, but it can't be long before the old geezers knees give out again and then the top spot will be mine

Your welcome to it pal, well for Feb/Mar at least, i'm off to Oz in a week - will be swimming and running, now then who can recommend a good tri-suit ?

  • Drove in today, the wind was too strong for my tired legs, felt vindicated when i passed a usually flying geezer struggling badly and being gusted about the road.
Had I battled it i would have been very overtired and burnt out and not able to get any weekend miles in... its all about the big picture

Hopefully be about 750 at the end of the month, think that would be the highest mileage in a month for me.
