A whole weekend of pure laziness. Gonna have to step up my miles next week.

80 miles this weekend. Was 49th for all of 2 seconds, expect to be back in the 60's come the weekend.

Got the newest visitor to the Morpeth, Rolf F in my sights. Should be able to keep up a good average all week this week.

Botheration. My planned ride yesterday didn't happen due to the freewheel hub deciding to freewheel in both directions so no forward motion was possible. Now sorted, and the rest of the bike got a full strip down & clean but it meant no weekend miles at all. Not good.

You have my sympathies. Happened to me during the snow. It's extremely annoying, isn't it? My hub's knackered.

It's annoying when added to the number of other minor & not so minor irritations I've had with the bike since I bought it late last year. Nothing major, nothing that can't be fixed, but it involves time spent working on the thing rather than riding it.

The workstand from Wiggle courtesy of those vouchers has earnt its keep already though.

Harp Hilly Hundred yesterday. From Hemel Hempstead up Half the Hills in Herts. Weather not too Horrible. Heaps of other riders, 190 allegedly.

    Legs Hurt today.

    Really Helped with the miles.

Familiar look to the table already. Like old times, eh ITB?

    Dammit!!

Poor weekend as Morpeth cost me a few miles plus nothing over the weekend and probably the next two as well - thanks to that, and all the big girls blouses who were scared of the snow, I have plummeted down the board. On the other hand, I should be upping my daily round trip from about 13 miles to 19 or 20 so that should help!

Nice mileage, I'm so not ready for that distance yet, i'll stick with the commute and a metric each weekend I think.

This was my second weekend of zero miles. No excuse, I'm just lazy and need a good kicking.

I know that feeling, I have a ton of stuff to do (bike stuff) and have done nothing other than ride the bike obv. still my fleet is desperately in need of some TLC

lots of salt and grit and scum cleaned off my commuter and a new chain fitted and gears re-indexed. 0 miles, and none this week, forecast for more frost and ice every night so plumped for a train pass again (freezing means ice round these parts!). My flurry of last week was indeed just a flurry then and I'll have it all to do again.

Here yer go. I nearly included this in the rebuild late last year but held back, but now that's there's about 90 odd users adding miles in, it needed something better than just This Year or the last 3 weeks filtering, so I've added Mini Leagues. They've actually been there for a few weeks unannounced whilst I played with them :)

So - if you want to see how you compare with a select few individuals of your choosing, go the Mini Leagues page (link at top of Stats page), follow the link to Add or Create... and Add a new league. Do it in two steps - enter the name in the text box, add it via the button; then select it in the drop down and tick everyone you want in your league, then hit the Add Selected Users button.

Use the same process to add & remove users from your league. When you select your league its current user-base is shown as ticked in the user list.

When you go back to the Mini Leagues page your league will be in the drop down.

Everyone at work seems to be having the cold from hell, I went in on the bus today, and probably tomorrow... Gah.

Chris: I had a bit of a fail at the state: I tried entering my miles under the ride type so now I have a ride type "98" and another type "26".

They were not meant to be particularly gnomish categories just 26 miles and 98 miles.

Could you delete these types from my ride type list...

I mis-clicked the other day and clicked another users name instead of my own but the add trip form still came up allowing me to add miles to another users account.

I didn't actually try and submit the form so I don't know if you have implemented any user check when it is submitted but I thought I'd point it out since if your not paying attention you could miss that it isn't your account (or maybe that's just me).

Stats has no knowledge of who's doing whose updates - there's no log-in so nothing for Stats to verify that the miles are being added to the right bucket by the right person. The New Miles page does stick your name up in bold so there is some indication of whose miles are being added. I could stick a confirmation Yes / No box up prior to adding the new record but in my experience users never read these things after the first few times; they see a box and hit OK without looking at what it's telling them.

I really would prefer to avoid a log-in; it removes the openness and ease of use, and touch wood it hasn't been an issue so far. If & when it does become an issue I'll look at it again but for now log-ins are not on the agenda.

Jimmy P - your feeble attempts at adding new ride types have been corrected, as requested. The Add Stats page is a bit cluttered. I might get round to tidying it up, just as everyone gets used to its current untidy layout.

    Grr...

I've got a really annoying cold that means I feel to knackered to cycle to work, but not too bad to actually work, so am using public transport. Not good.

How come you don't seem to have any miles in January?

I never even noticed there wasn't a log in

For some reason I thought it was storing user data in a cooke ad logging you in automatically.

Pshh... I had to stop to hack up half a lung this morning (asthma and bad coughs don't mix). MTFU and get back in the game :P

I just adjust the total. Got the daily stats on garmin connect.

@Oddjob62 - I'd have thought you'd suggest a decent spell of bedrest to jimmypippa looking at your respective positions on the table :)

As for me, my mileage is fairly bad at the moment so I need to MTFU and get out there a bit more!

You seem to be zero miles to me :? Ditto Blue3cat, Cannyjock and Norky even though they appear in the list. Position list doesn't exactly correlate with mileage list.....

CiB - I'm missing from the final stats for 2009 - I even submitted times in late December :D

glad you ask, couldn't cycle this morning due to virtually zero sleep (leg pains) but still managed to oversleep by two hours, took the car to work, which is fine, took the tube which is pants, day at work actually being very productive but on the way home find myself standing on the platform of the wrong tube line staring at nothing, finally shaking out of it and finding my way home.

What a bizarre evening commute, I'm not even sure how or what happend, very trippy!

  • ITB, you obviously need to rest up for several weeks

I stretched my homeward commute out to 33.5 miles. Lovely night for it. Though I think I have found the limit of my single speed legs at the minute on my hilly back road routes. Could spin forever on the flat but I almost hit the wall a mile from home.

Was still going good and all of a sudden i could hardly muster a turn of the crank.

No bike time tomorrow so glad i got it done tonight anyway
