Hello February
Nice cycle in. Fairly sedate pace.
Note to all, beware, there is a lad on here who is knocking out close to 50 miles, every single day and hasnt been logging them on the stats page
I've seen him before but he caught me this morning for the first time as I was well late leaving and very slow.
Cant believe he isnt logging them! He's doing appx 1000miles every single month!0 -
ggrrrrrrrr, bloody kids hid the shed keys this morning    No lights, they were still on my fixie locked in the shed. When will they learn to put them back where they can be found
Oh well that's Feb off to a bad startpain is temporary, the glory of beating your mates to the top of the hill lasts forever.....................
Revised FCN - 20 -
Well didn't quite manage to get to 750, should have commuted home on Friday, but considering the weather we had earlier in the day on Friday, decided I didn't want another soaking, so did a turbo session instead.
Try for 600 in Feb.0 -
rubbish start to feb. had to go short way to work this morning cos of stupid snow and also needed to get back quick from work today
on the plus side, not going into work til bout 10 tomo so going to turn my commute into a 2 and half hour commute0 -

Come on you lot, someone own up. Who bribed Rich158's kids to hide the keys then...
Started the month off with a nice 16 miler in. I'm in work 'til 10pm today so I'll have to see how I feel later but may only be 7.5 miles home. Fingers crossed I can stay in the top 50 :roll:_________________________________________________

First cycling on ice experience this morning, or rather the first experience of saying feck that for a game of soldier and getting off to walk for a bit.ITBoffin wrote:WheezyMcChubby wrote:125 miles for Jan
Had planned to do 25 today to acheive my own 150 target but didn't happen due to family stuff. Happy to have got started again and definitely believe a gradual increase in mileage is the best way forward having restablished the commuting habit.
Target for Feb - 250miles
That's a big jump in miles in one month
In percentage terms yes, but I think its do-able.
The plan is 4x2x15.5mile commutes and 4 weekend runs of 25.30.40.45 miles
We'll see what happens.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -
sigh i remember when i was in the top 50. im not even in the top 50% any more All the turbo training has taken it out of me i hope there is a break in the weather so i can get out on the road, especially as its getting lighter on a night.
I will be impressed if i overtake fixedweasel this month, if i do then CIB is the next target  You have been warned0 -

Not really important, but your HOTA mileage has gone into Feb not Jan.
If you're as odd as me you might want to change it, if you are normal you won't care.
ETA ...if I'd done 500miles in Jan I'd want the whole world to know it“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

Slight tweak to the stats board to get the sort working properly [at last I hear mutterings from the back]. All col headings now invoke a genuine sort, first in ascending order or click again to sort high to low. Works on all cols except user names which are actually URLs so are sorted by ID, but not how you might expect. Same applies to the trimmed-down mini-leagues boards.0 -
Updating has stopped working for me or else with the changes I can no longer work it out boo hoo!!!
If I add my daily miles the total is not updating automatically as it did before...Still breathing.....0 -

Edit - I just added (and then deleted) 10 miles on your stats and it worked. The message is for info only - if you leave the hh:mm:ss values at zero it informs you that you won't see an Avg MPH for that trip. Your miles are incremented though on the main leaderboard.0 -
Damned illness, that made me miss the 600 mark for Jan and I've probably dropped back 70 miles including yesterdayPurveyor of sonic doom

tried a new route in today - 0.4 miles shorter but hillier, so takes longer! My route is hilly enough as it is, so don't think I'll be losing the valuable 0.8 miles a day off the table!0

At last I'm in the top 30, although not for long I imagine. I have a question while I'm here though, very soon I will be away for afew weeks and fully expect to find myself propping up up the table upon my return. Is there such a thing as an annual leave mileage credit :?: :?: :?:0

When off work for a few weeks, you should be doing big mileage days to add, not take away, from your average!0 -
I'm going abroad fingers crossed, which is a good thing but these SC Stats are so addictiive I'm actually concerned about how far I'll drop down the table. How sad am I, no need to answer...0

My target of 3650miles (guess how I arrive at that figure) would have been enough to get into the top 30 last year.
This year it looks like being nowhere.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

which is why I take my bike on holiday with me - last year I did more mileage on holiday than when i was working0 -

Doesn't matter how hilly it is, you'll still be losing 0.8 miles a day - the vertical gain will be very small compared to the horizontal loss. Need to find a longer and hillier route. My new one (in my sig below) is a third longer but, interestingly, almost a perfect third more climbing as well. Now about 1400 feet per day.
Edit - 400 miles for the year so far; not bad considering last year was 2200 for the year as a whole!Faster than a tent.......0 -
First day back on the commute in over two weeks. Seems I have some work to do...FCN 2-4.

Now back in the game after the January fiasco of weather, illness and general lethargy. Would appear that I need to do some serious miles to make the jump to the lead group.0

vertical gain is irrelevant now they have taken it out of the table, but my normal commute is 2530 feet height gain a day as it is. The new route I tried was crazy, at one point I was looking down onto my normal route, which must have been about 100 feet below! I then had to descend back down to meet it, so it was wasted climbing! Steep in parts too and just generally not much fun.0 -
200 target for Feb. Not the best, but after my injury it will be good just to do it. Hoping to really up the ante in March and April.
My target of 6,000 for the year seems out of reach already!!"Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0 -

What happened Wallace, I know that you were gearing up for big things this year, didn't pick up on the fact you'd been injured?0 -
Someone please enlighten me - what is the "gap" ? And should I mind it? What's better, big or small?
Confused here."Consider the grebe..."0
