I'm knocking at your door CJCP, just a few miles, I might have to start logging my off-road miles as well  There's still a fair way to go to haul in the mighty ITB, but it can't be long before the old geezers knees give out again and then the top spot will be mine

Your welcome to it pal, well for Feb/Mar at least, i'm off to Oz in a week - will be swimming and running, now then who can recommend a good tri-suit ?

Perhaps I should buy a sports car and be done with it

Swimming and running  that's heresy, get back on your bike man, think of the stats

Benno - that avg might be way out. I assumed that 81 secs = 1m 21s which should have been 1h 21m. Up to you if you want to keep it.

I've stuck a couple of buttons up that offer FG or SS as ride types. Sometime in the future I'll add some kind of filtering to show these ride types as a separate list, or filtered in some way. For now if you want to distinguish FG SS rides, add them as your ride type and assign your miles to them as appropriate.

I swear to the almighty cycling god.... - it was 1hr 21 minutes - don't ask me how and I'll probably never do it again.

I was thinking though, out of a 30 minute normal commute (just under 8 miles), I must be stuck at red traffic lights for 5 minutes

My computer doesn't have a stopwatch or average speed function(Cateye Vectra Wireless), so I use the stopwatch function on a wrist watch/HRM which keeps running when I'm stopped, so I've been posting the actual time on the bike from door to door.

Maybe I should get a better computer sometime soon.

If you buy the right sports car, then it could lead to depreciation free motoring according to an article in the Times and EVO. Their tips for 2010 are series 1 Lotus Elise, Ferrari F40, BMW M3CSL, Sierra Cosworth, TVR Griffith and can't remember the other(s). Does lead to a "nice day, car or bike quandrary though, which is not at all conducive to stats type thinking!

Aha! Cool... that means we can distinguish between the Real FG riders and the SS wusses!

All my miles have been FG this year (havn't been on the broken bike since early December). Is there a way for me to tag them, now, or would I need to delete & re-enter?

    Cheers,
    W.

    W. I'll do a manual tweak tonight to change them all to FG. Edit - what username are you in Stats as? I see no WGWarburton or similar.

Anyone else needing a bulk update to FG / SS?

I've riden geared once this year. Might step it up to 2-3 times/month once the weather gets nicer.

I "registered" as Buns... it's kindof an old joke :-)

I wondered about changing my login but there's no way to do it yourself, and it didn't seem worth hassling the moderators/admins... I'm sure there are as many (or maybe as few) who recognise "me" as WGWarburton as there are who know the Buns moniker...

    Maybe I should run a poll :-)

    Cheers,
    W.

Run your poll and decide what you want to be. It's a 5 second job to change it; I've done a few so far. [Fnaarrr fnaarr].

Er yea, all my rides have been SS except anything marked "Mountain biking"

    Cheers!

Oh go on then, why not :-)... I doubt many will notice, TBH! I won't waste anyones time with a poll... I mostly threw that in as a set up line, in case anyone wanted to follow up with a joke at DDDs expense

I tend to find that gears work in all weathers and are generally "a good thing"
  • Hi All,

Been lurking around here for ages but the stats league has brought me out of the shadows and I've finally got around to registering. Thanks CiB! I've got another reason to hop on the bike now...

Normally do around about 500 miles a month so won't be breaking an records - although amnezia's 622miles = 1000km idea has given me a new target to aim at. If I didn't already have plans I'd be going out for a Sunday blast to hit it. Bring on next month...

    Cheers,

    Ed

Here's my end of month stats

    Mth Miles = 718.32
    Time = 47:49:25
    Avg Speed 12.25

Okay that's a shockingly low avg because of all the snow & ice commutes, honest

That's the slowest month i've ever had even back in the bad old BSO days

Well my plans have been totally messed up (due to those crappy crank brothers speed lever things (teach me to think "oh they will be ok i won't take a spare set for a few weeks just in case they suck") and just as crappy specialized inner (valve broke during pumping) After over an hour of messing around i was so knackered i just wanted to get home (also had no more spares and didn't want to face having to use that lever for a third time in one night)

Still can get my 200mile week and 500mile month but it's gonna mean more miles this weekend. Ahh well at least the weather is supposed to be nice

Besides, riding FG and SS is only impressive if you have hills to contend with - and London doesn't

Steaming through the night with a nice tail wind when a sudden ice/tyre interaction on a bend resulted in a chin/tarmac braking manouvre.

Cuts and grazes to both of us.
And me feeling stupid because it had never even occured to me that it'd be icy. 'swot comes of working 300ft lower than home, it's not much but it's sometimes enough for snow at one end of the commute and not at the other.

I updated just the commutes to SS; if you want the others doing it's easier for you to delete them and re-add them tbh.

Buns is now WGWarburton, which sounds much more diginified to me. All of your commutes are now FG.
