Was out for 3 hours this morning, -4 start and really felt it. Plenty of ice on the roads and came off about 5 minutes from home. 10% gradient and burst drain don't mix in this weather and I had no way of avoiding the inevitable fall.

Does anyone mind if I join
got myself a goal of 6000 miles to do before december so hopefully getting lots of miles in
Also just checking it doesnt all have to be commuting does it, i only work 3 days a week most weeks so will be a tad unfair0 -

Yay, got my 400th mile in for the month - seeing as I've only done eighteen days and the most I'd managed in a month before was 284 and November and December were 99 and 92 respectively, I'm pretty chuffed...
Was going to go for six hundred next month, but just read that bit that mentions 633 miles is 1,000km so that's the new figure to aim for...0 -
Well that's me done for the month, managed 10% more than my target so well happy with that although what I am NOT happy with is the fact that doesn't even get me into the top 10!!!
551miles
40Hrs
13.8mph average - mountain biking and snow slowing down things (any excuse!)
2 x puncture fairy
hoping people get bored soon to get me up the table (and that I don't get bored!)
good work everyone,

my cycle computer doesnt give me an overal average (will have to learn how to sort it to do second trips)
trip in I know I got upto 26mph (on the flat), average was 11.3mph, its all uphill and i did a heavy legs session yesterday so was struggling a little as well as having to stop at the lights for what felt like ages....
way home 2miles in 6minutes 41 seconds 8) I think if the lights and traffic are with me I could do it in 3minutes..... its just them speed bumps slowing me down. top end was 28.9mph and average was 14.8mph because of the bleeding lights. everytime I looked at the speedo it was saying between 25 and 27mph.
I just could not get low enough with the riser bars. I could hear my bag whistling and i could really feel the wind on my chest... may have to get some bull horns or drops...
all in all not bad for a day at -2/3 on a fixed gear with flats and baggy clothes... just wait till I get a nice flat section to really crank it up without having to slow for cars :twisted:FCN: 5/6 Fixed Gear (quite rapid) in normal clothes and clips

All in all I'm quite pleased with my January mileage. I didn't get going until the 4th and even then conditions were pretty appalling so couldn't manage the mileage I intended. Have had to go all out this week to get up to my target of 600 miles a month, over two hundred miles this week. 8)0

125 miles for Jan
Had planned to do 25 today to acheive my own 150 target but didn't happen due to family stuff. Happy to have got started again and definitely believe a gradual increase in mileage is the best way forward having restablished the commuting habit.
Target for Feb - 250miles“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -
