He's probably cycling the Channel/North Sea (which is it at that point?) as well.

Given how wet I've been on several occasions this week I might as well have been, who mentioned the bloody rain

Oh for somewhere as flat as Holland, the fixie is killing me, my knee's won't stand many more hills. I'll be as crocked as ITB before too long, us old boys just can't take it anymore

And I'll be watching out for spiked drinks on the 11th :?

A pathetic effort for this week. Managed two days on the bike as working from home today. :(

Yeah, only three days for me and all (on holiday Monday, and working from home Wednesday).

Still, swooped back into the top 20. I'm sure I was gaining on the top 10 a week or so ago though... :(

Well go out and do another 4 then.

I just did 6 round the lanes here, simply because it's such a lovely evening.........er afternoon.

Even closer now  It would have been closer still if I hadn't had two visits from the puncture fairy this morning. Are you in league with ITB

You can rest easy because I have at least three week days off the bike in the next three weeks. That's, what, 125 of your miles right there. Not that I've been counting or anything. :)

So, the taper is in full effect.

Went out Thurs night for the usual off-road route. Had a complete sense of humour failure. In the darkest minutes I'd decided I'd had enough of this cycling lark completely.

It was raining. Lots. It was windy. I had almost the right clothes except my 'almost completely waterproof' boots lived up to their name. Feet nice and dry for first hour, but once water does get in to these boots it never leaves. They're still damp 4 days later. Wet off-camber tree roots were scary. Track got washed away in a few places. Broke a spoke. Rolled over and burst a frog. I will never forget the look on his face. Had a flat. Did myself a minor injury. Too muddy to go to pub afterwards. Took an hour to clean up when I got home, still made a huge mess.

Said minor injury had me off the bike completely Saturday and only a gentle 50km today. Weather was unexpectedly lovely in these parts today.

Haven't totted it up yet, but it's definitely not been a good week...

Minor injury you say? yet you're still able to pop in a little 50k ride

I've only managed 40 mile in the last two week although I have also managed six 30 min hard turbo sessions with no adverse effects

I'm not suggesting i'll be back into the 800-900 mile a month league but i'll def be 100 miles a week very soon.

So your knees are back in good order then, that's good to hear. Just don't go doing any stupidly long/hard rides, not that you would of course

Oh yes, or the puncture fairy  A certain silly old fool was heard to boast at the start of the run this morning 'I haven't had a puncture in months, these tyres are fantastic' Cue the PF chasing me all morning.

It's not going to be a good week  Waiting for new tyres and tubes from Wiggle, out on the lash tomorow so I don't think I'l be fitting them when I get home, so it looks like I'll be off the bike most of the week  Well until Thursday at least

Saying that looking at the wind and rain this morning I think that's no bad thing, a little break before the final push to the new year will do me good

It looks like things are about to get interesting now ITB's knee is working again. Lets just hope the old boy doesn't overdo it again and put himself out of the running.

    Can't believe last week's stats.

21 miles - thats the poorest of the year so far. At this rate I'm not going to make 3000 for the year.

And I wussed out this morning as there was torrential rain... which has now stopped.

And I lost my gloves at the fair.

    Please send sympathy.

    Help?!

Ahhh - sorted. Works on the full list but presumably should still work in the no updates for 3 weeks list?

Think I'll be getting some new tyres soon too. Another unscheduled deflation this morning. Rear tyre again. Grrr. I seem to have a better run with 23mm than 25mm Gator Skins.

I may opt for Krylions next time round.

1h 31m this morning instead of the usual 1h ~7; nearly came to a stop on one bit with a howling wind blowing straight at me. Still - should be back home in around 51 mins tonight, unless the wind changes. Which it will.

Just thinking about getting my bike back on the road. It needs a complete bloody service now - so unlikely to be back on it before next week.

I think next year I may have to buy myself a second bike.
