If my freehub holds out I should break the 4000 mile barrier this week yay! :D

    Yup. Get them miles in.

So should I wait for the reset or guestimate my milage so far this year?
  • wait for the reset! The numbers only have any interest on a month by month basis and many of us have been battling for certain positions (eg top 30 for me) for most of the year - its a bit dispiriting when someone sticks up a massive number right at the end of the year. That said, if you know your miles, there is no rule against it, so do what you need to...

I'd just guestimate... anywhere around 7k will slot you in nicely to the top 3.

Well due to work commitments, I'm unlikely to get my leg over a top tube for the rest of the month. Unless Prawny's freehub is completely funked I'll be well out of the top 20 come December.

If you can accurately guess your mileage this year and there's no prospect of you getting ahead of me, add yourself to the table.

Indeed. I'd suggest an arbitrary cut-off of - let's see - 4400 miles. You can add your miles retrospectively as long as it doesn't exceed 4400 and thereby bump me down the table. Like others, I was knocking on the door of the top 10 a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm nowhere.

Seriously, if you've done the miles, you've done the miles. I fully expect some oik will barge in on New Years Eve with a 10,208 haul and nick the crown, but as none of us are lying (or we'd all be joint top on 999999 apiece), stick them up there.

Hmm,, so my highly accurate scan through the calendar working out which days I did roughly what route gives 3792.5 miles additional to what I've already put up (note the 0.5 - that's how accurate it is  ). This doesn't include non-commuting miles or other detours, so should be an underestimate if anything.....................

Stick it all in. It includes non-commuting miles. (You had better not have done 3,000 or so non-commuting miles.)

Trouble is I can't really claim to have any idea what that'd be. Pity no cycle tour this year eh?

Sorry, Chris. Just added myself. The mileage is an underestimate based on known commute days and data from the garmin. I've done quite a bit (up to a couple of hundred miles) on the hack bike which isn't recorded...

Edit: haven't added any november miles yet.

I've been moved onto the 'no update for 3 weeks' chart.

Started to rebuild 2 bikes, then so busy at work, I'm only just about to finish one of them.
Back on the road by the end of the week. 4000 by the end of year should be possible.

Really just setting things up for 2010.

So a month and a half to go :- where do you think you'll end up? [assuming no johnny come latelys like me drop into the stats ahead  ]

    I'm aiming at 15th
  • would still like top 30, but all these jonny come latelys are making it ever harder - and feltup seems to be on an uber-mission this week

4th. Rich158 commutes, what, like, 200 miles a day, while FixedWeasel is looking a bit too keen for my liking. This combined with business trips is not good.

Going for 2nd, with another 50-60 miles to go tonight, plus tomorows commute and a club run on sunday it could be a good week

On the other hand I am constantly knackered and am eating pretty much my own body weight in pasta

Have you moved to Dover, as CJ rather suspects, I think?
