1,000 miles in a month. :o Jeez. That's a lot of miles. Top bombing! 8) I did 960 or so in July and I was knackered.

I have a 200 miler lined up, starting Sunday morning. I should finish in time to ride into work on Monday morning.

But what about Saturday  There's at least another 60  odd miles there.

The rage within at the moment would easily go someway to powering me to a PB for a 10m TT. But I'e got to rest tomorrow because I hoping to do a cross race on Sunday.

Oooh, forgot to mention I did my 1,000th mile since fitting my CatEye on the evening of 21st October.

Nowhere near the mileage some of you are managing, but considering it only went on on June 23rd and I'm only doing miles to and from the gym and work I'm pretty happy with it.

Is it sad I slowed down to a crawl to see it 'tick over' to the 1,000 mark? :-)

Sadly 1,000 in total, since I started recording (end of August), tis only just over 500 for October... but still very happy with it.

I'm frozen at the moment - been feeling crap since late last week and don't want to make myself worse as I have 6 days in the Lakes coming up and I don't want to spend it in bed. Am hoping for a top 30 spot and over 3000 miles for the year, would be nice to keep the top of the tree for the climb ratio too and a 'podium' spot for height gained, but I do need to get back out on the bike to do it!

I'm aiming to get to 5000 mile by end of year and will probably set 7000 for target next year as long as i don't get ill again like i did last winter.

I went the fast, direct route to my gf's new flat last night, rather than the more side-streety way I usually go, and it was only 4.28 miles door to door! Barely enough time to work up a sweat - and 27 miles A WEEK less than it would be going to my own flat. I think my top 20 p[lace is in serious danger.

    Or:

    - Tell her to move
    - dump her
    - change jobs
    - stop riding direct routes!

Looking forward to full battle in 2010, I will never be up with the big boys, but will be challenging for top 10.

Quite. Judging by the mileage some folks who started after January are racking up each month, I think next year's top 10 is going to look very different.

Once I realised that the totals were being zeroed at the end of the year the fight sort of went out of me - instead I'm gearing up for next year - it should be pretty competitive.

Can I, as the lantern rouge, make a suggestion.

The 2010 table should include 2009 as a comparison. Also might be a good idea to start a new thread with the website link on the first post.

Oh and I had a rare day off yesterday and got out for a ride.

The bike actually had cobwebs

    EDIT

Yep, that's what I meant - a good record of mileage too. :)

As for 2010, all it'll take is for two or three to make have a couple of digs off the front in January to see how long they can make the break stick, and it's Game On. :D

So I've just determined that I've had more collisions with vehicles than punctures during the course of my commute.

    Time for a new column?

Fine in principle though I reckon Chris might start pulling his hair out when he sees the task we've set for him :)

stay away from the hills ITB, you are almost exactly 2 Everests from sea level ahead of me at the moment which might just be doable, the moment you start racking the altitude up though its over!

I am tantalisingly short of 1000 this month : my week plan will have me stranded on 986 unless I do a 70 or 80 miler on Saturday instead of my 50 ...... and I did miss 4 days of riding with that blasted trip to New York but I don't suppose whining about that will do any good......

Maths isn't my strong point, but why don't you do 65 miles on Saturday instead of 50?

Yeah, I've been eyeing up the possibility of a 1000 mile month.

It's looking like it's going to see me off at 940, though.

I can see Aidy, but can't see a "running man", certainly nowhere near 1000 miles for Oct anyway. CJCP - surely you could have squeezed another 20 miles out, or was it not really in your mind at the time? Think I might try it next year
