    Good effort. My 5 commutes remaining this week is about 105 miles; should be able to get that over 107 to hit 3000 for the year, but then I'm off for a couple of weeks. :(

    Wish I hadn't revised my July target down to 600 the day before it cuts off any more updates for the month - it's now 146 miles from target and climbing.

    2 steps forward, one step back...

    Edit: at what point exactly does this 'bit of pointless fun' cross over into OCD? I have a friend, who may be trying too hard...

    Hey Porgy - have a day off tomorrow.

    Gap = 21 miles, my commute distance. You phone in sick, I'll take a detour and <finally> overhaul you. Good man.

    :wink:

    Yeah - think I'll have two off. In fact you might want to take a day off yourself if I'm taking two.

    Arms aloft...

    10 JimmyPippa - 2915 mls.
    11 ChrisInBicester - 2893 mls.
    12 Porgy - 2892 mls.

    Still to get home too. That'll be it then - I reckon I should close down the stats pages once I get home and hit 10th spot tonight. Job done.

    That was a good run: headwind most of the way but managed to get myself tucked in behind a slowly accelerating truck and got dragged up to 45mph before he moved away and the wind slowed me again. And had a a double dose of nice girls on horses c/w cheery wave & smile. Nice. :)

    I might take tomorrow and friday off since I'm about to hit my 800 miles target for July.

    9 R_T_A - 3286 mls.
    10 Porgy - 2922 mls.
    11 jimmypippa - 2915 mls.
    12 ChrisInBicester - 2893 mls.

    which means you sould be able to pass me by the end of the week :D

    10 jimmypippa - 2990 mls.
    11 Porgy - 2922 mls.
    12 ChrisInBicester - 2914 mls.

    I updated before seeing this.

    It is hotting up for number 10 position...

    Chris and Porgy,

    How are you so low, given that you have been doing about 300 miles a month more than me for the last couple of months?

    I thionk we should add total ascent too:

    My commute tends to be lowest average gradient of my riding, so I can say that on average I do more than 4400 ft climbing per hundred miles. So that makes at least 131000 ft this year

    strokes chin... Interesting!

    We totally ignored ascent per month, interesting... strokes chin

    I just added up the number of wet days since I started recording my stats on the 17th March this year.

    Good question - I started the year with flu and the aftermath lasted about two months - it took me till March / April before I could begin to rack up the miles like i can now. I reckon that I should be up in the top 5 - and I will be if this rolls over to next year and I don't get Swine flu.

    Anyway - think I might go for a 900 mile target for August - how about you Chris?

    Ooooh I think ascent is relevant - the vast majority of my miles are in relatively flat areas, which is why I'm so rubbish at hills...

    Number of miles you freewheeled v pedalled. Not applicable to fixies
    No. of leches at members of the opposite sex on the commute.

    We could come up with hundreds of possibilities.
    I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    I'm a genius - I've cycled 65 miles this August already :lol:

    Height would be great - I've done a lot of that (though I think I'm still a bit crap at it!). It'll even be fun back calculating height gained this year. We could have a difference between height gained and height of Mount Everest column! :lol:

    Height gain would be good, which is fine for those of us who can download all their routes into mapping software that will tell them, but I imagine the majority of people won't know. You can work it out for your commute quite easily I guess (from whatever site you guys who have the profile as your signature use) but for weekend rides etc, it would become a bit of a faff.

    I have height logged for my main rides because I was training for the Fred Whitton and now it has got to be a habit. Blatant brag but I am out to the Dolomites soon on honeymoon and the dearly beloved has said I can take the bike!!!!!!!! Sella Ronde 40miles with nearly 7000ft of ascent :D

    PS - those signature profiles are very good, but do you know that if you click on them it opens a website map page which shows where you live and where you work (and all the bits inbetween)? You probably do know that, but that's a little too much info than I would be comfortable sharing, especially given some of the rants on here at times!

    Not that I'm counting or anything BUT

    2800ft each day (40 ish miles) not including London :lol: it helps having an 800 ft hill to climb twice a day.

    most of that SS and I mostly enjoy it, I'm a sick sick man

    Let's see then - requests for:

    * Ascent
    * Potholes
    * Beeps
    * Leching [would need to sub-divide this down to separate leching from waves to / from nice girls on horses. That's not leching. Not in my book anyway.]
    * Freewheeling

    Other possibilities...
    * RLJing [witnessed / committed]
    * Regal waves to acknowledge good driving
    * Mouthbreathing
    * England World Cup victories - today's the day...
    * Eclipses [moon / sun].

    Should be pretty straightforward. Take a look tomorrow and see what's occurred.

    Me too; didn't fancy it at 6:45 this am so opted for a better alternative 8). Enjoy the rest. As Rich 158 has reinstated his missing miles and others have added their own I'm back in 13th place and facing 0 miles over the next couple of weeks. There goes a top 10 finish.

    Miles added during a week that rolls into a new month are added into the new month's bucket.

    If you want your miles to go into the current month during weeks that run into a new month, select the previous week from the drop down.

    I need to get round to resolving this one.

    Tis done. Around month end Stats will check the day number that you enter your stats and send the miles to the relevant month. So around month end, get your miles in before the month changes.
