    Looks like there might have been some sabotage of the stats page.

    10000 mile per week?

    -60 miles per week?

    That's really disappointing.

    :-(

    Not sabotage, just incorrect usage.

    B has clearly opted to take the michael and skew all the stats by pretending to have done 10000 miles this week. ITB has presumably tried to reduce mileage by 60 miles instead of going through the Month view -> Deletion page to remove incorrect miles

    Shame tho.

    I've just done it for ITB and Bl. It's usually a bad idea to start fiddling with other people's figures but these were wrong, and are skewing the numbers.

    Blondimo & ITB; your numbers have been adjusted. ITB: I deleted the -100 miles that you'd stuck up; your YTD reflects this change so you might want to modify it to whatever it should be.

    Hi guys,

    Just to let you know it wasn't me - I haven't mucked around with the site since Chris deleted my 80085. Thanks for sorting it though, Chris.

    Additional column introduced that shows the gap between your YTD mileage and the guy above you. It was either that or watch some programme about strangely hairy people with the M-i-Law. Stats won.

    I ought to add that it now captures the IP address when miles are added, to allow a bit of finger pointing if the sort of jiggery-pokery that happened this week resurfaces. Apologies - it does break that disclaimer on the New User page about not capturing personal data (note to self - change the wording). There's not much I can or would want to do with it, other than use it to notice that IP address A has been used to update UserA's miles 23 times, and once to update UserB. Obviously if UserA is round UserB's house at 2 in the morning and decides to update his or her stats, that might be noticed. But only by me, and only if I bother to look. I'd hope that knowing that there's a link back will stop the fiddling around.

    Gawd I sound like a teacher.

    Shout if this additional bit of data logging troubles you.

    Marc Mann's rides for July

    W/c Jul 13 - 1096 miles.

    Good work for doing all the fixes to all the incorrect usage. I've just had to delete and re-add stuff as I ran out of fingers and toes.

    I think I was a bit under with my initial target of 450. Will I get a lollipop for going over my estimate a week before the end of the month?

    Nope. It's to give those of us who can only manage 28 miles in a month the chance to be top dog, by correctly predicting that we will do 28 miles. Closest to his / her monthly target gets the lollipop.

    @GB155

    2495 miles this year, any wonder the weights dropping off

    @GregT

    Not my business but I think you should be adding your full YTD mileage

    Not today but he wants to ride into Paris wearing it. I added his name to the game to see how his miles compare to that of the regular real commuters.

    I Googled Marc Mann on the assumption that anyone doing that many miles must be on the internet somewhere, but most of the results were to do with a bloke who played guitar for the ELO not so long ago. Nice one RedVee. Keep him going on the stats. Technically he is commuting - he's riding his bike to work.

    SpudPig - I'd be interested* in seeing your statistical analysis that arrived at the bloke & burd mix of gay and not so gay PF visits, but to answer your question, you can enter whatever your conscience allows you to, much like you can with the miles column. The SC Stats GPS Tracking System that correlates your input with What I Know To Be True isn't yet activated, so it's between you & your conscience what you stick down in the PF column.

    *No I wouldn't. :)

    Interesting quote from http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/nov/23/mark-cavendish-tour-de-france
    We have arranged to meet for a ride and, when I arrive on a wintry Monday morning at his house, he is in slippers in the kitchen attempting to stop his espresso machine from overheating. He would like to make it a short one this morning, which suits me just fine. 'I ride my bike 45,000km a year,' he says. 'People ask you to come here and there and I say, "I can't." And they say, "Yeah, I realise you're tired, I realise you just want a bit of peace and quiet." And it's like, no. I. Am. Fucked. I'm totally, utterly exhausted. My body is eating itself because I'm so tired.'

    And an SCR quote later on in the same article, thqanks WMC...
    I have not cycled seriously for a few years, but I still ride to work most days, slipstreaming commuters, not satisfied until I have broken the 50-year-old man on a Brompton who is oblivious to the race he has not entered.

    Yes. I now have freakishly large legs.

    Actually, no. I'm a dimwit when it comes to IT, so I thought I was plugging in all my July miles.

    Just back from four laps of the Park. One heck of a headwind up the drag from Roeampton Gate. Which meant a whacking great tailwind up Dark Hill - I managed 18.5 mph up it. Not often that happens!

    for some reason ive never posted in this thread so here are my stats:

    name...ytd...mtd...wtd...PF...
    Spasy Paddy......1,685.62..... 238.14.... 110.67.... 1 maybe 2

    Not bad considering i had 3 months out with a knee injury and then had to take it slowly getting back on the bike, without knee injury would be pushing the 3k mark for the year.

    My spreadsheet is at work. Ahem. I'll update in the morning. It's been a pretty good weekend but I forget what I did during the week.

    @ITB - you're safe.

    @Rich - it's going to be close

    Bear with me, but I reckon there's a certain similarity to another mighty cycling contest going on at the moment.

    ITB = Bertie. Very classy, but what's with the gun shot thing?
    Rich = The Texan. All washed up or master bluff??

    That makes me the Bradley Wiggins of SCS!
